Use the arrow keys to move Sonny.

Most people prefer the "fast" setting.  To do this, type .

In this walkthrough you see something like this , it means
type "Look dog" {without the quotes, of course}

Whenever I say 2 numbers in parentheses (3,10), that is how many points you
get, and how many points total {there are 245 possible points, but you can
get 246}.

Whenever I say walk, go, or drive east, I mean ->, west means <, north means
^, and South means v.

When you drive, don't run into cars, don't run red lights, and don't run
into buildings.  Go through green lights,  when you need to, and
 when you need to.  Sometimes, you automatically park.

Ctrl-D is the dispatcher: same as typing .
Ctrl-S is 
Ctrl-J is Joystick
F1 brings up the help menu.
F2 turns sound on/off.
F3 retypes your last message.
F4 lets you enter and exit your car, and drive or park.
F5 saves the game.
F6 makes your car drive normal speed. [Code-1]
F7 restores a game.
F8 makes your car drive faster speed. [Code-2]
F9 restarts the game.
F10 makes your car drive fastest speed. [Code-3] and gets weapon ready.

You can get to inventory by pushing Tab, typing inventory, typing inv, or
pushing Esc, and clicking on it.

F6, F8, and F10 are helpful for chasing people.  When I first played this
game, I didn't know about them, so it would take hours to catch up with a
car.  It is possible to catch them, but it's much easier if you go faster.

I will not say certain things every time you do them {like , , , then }.  You should know how to do them by the time
I stop typing them.

_Start_

 (1,1), then  in the room you start in (2,3).
Walk to the locker room [the one in the southeast].  
in the southeast corner (1,4).   (1,5),  (1,6),  (1,7), and  (1,8).   (1,9), 
(1,10), and  (1,11).   and .  Walk west
and go to the northeast room.   (5,16), then .
Wait through the meeting (8,24) and .  Just type something like
, , and  (1,25).  
on the bottom right (1,26), then  on the hole left of the one you
just looked <1,27>.  Leave the station [go west 3 times] and walk around the
southwest car to do the safety check (5,32).   and 
your car [or push F4].  , then  [or push F4].

_Accident/Ticket_

Drive around until you get a message that there's been an accident, then go
to B2.  Arrive at the accident (3,35).  , then  by the
wrecked car.   [or Ctrl-D].   and . Wait for
the other cops to arrive (5,40) and leave.  Drive around until you get
another message, then drive to Caffeine Carol's (3,43).  Walk inside Carol's
and  at the table with Steve.   and wait for Carol to
answer the phone.   up and  (2,45).   and , then leave.  Wait for yet another message, then pull over the
speeder (4,49).  Walk over to the car and .  Say , and
tell her your name is .  Tell her , then
say  (2,51).   and .  Tell her to , and  (5,56).   in again (1,57) and
drive around again.

_Complaint/Drunk_

Keep driving until you get another message.  Go to Carol's again, and  from your car (3,60), then go inside Carol's.   (3,63), and leave.  Enter Wino Willy's and tell the guys to

start circling you (5,68).   to Marie (3,71), then start
driving again.  Wait for a message, then pull over the drunk man (3,74).
Walk over to the drunk's car and , then .  Tell him
, then tell him to .   (3,77), then .  In case you didn't know, Art
Serabian is a joke because he is Al Lowe, a programmer for this game and the
genius behind the Leisure Suit Larry series.  He can also be seen in LSL6.
Anyways, back to the game you need to answer  when he asks if you could
cuff him in the front.  , and tell him  (3,80).

and shut both doors.  Walk to the lockers and , then  (2,83).  , then  to get in.  Tell the

Do another safety check for your police car, then get in.  Drive around
until you get a message about a stolen car.  Pull over the car (5,106).

When I tell you to patrol with the car I mean that you are supposed to patrol
the streets until you get a message. You also have to patrol several maps, not
only one map (3-8 maps ?).
When I say north I mean the upper part of the screen (south is obvious by now).
Left is the hand where you have your thum to the right in case you didn't know.
To get into the car do the following at the cardoor:
"OPEN DOOR"
Press F4
"CLOSE DOOR"
Press F4
This procedure will referred to as getting into the car.
In this game most of the doors open themselves, if not type "OPEN DOOR"

       Walk east to the briefing room (the north door on the east side).

4  The briefing room.

         Walk to the paper, type "READ PAPER" (There are more than one page).
         When you're finished reading, type "PUT PAPER DOWN".
         Wait until a police officer comes in, and then walk to your place(Find
         it yourself).Face the blackboard and wait until the briefing is over.
         Type "WRITE NOTES" and write your own notes.Then walk to the cubic
         holes on right wall, find your hole and type
         "LOOK IN THE PIGEONHOLE".
         "TAKE THE NOTE".
         "READ THE NOTE".
         Exit the briefing room.

5  The big hall in the police station.

         Walk to the keys at the west wall.
         "TAKE THE PATROL CAR KEYS".
         Walk to the table with the radio extenders.
         "TAKE A RADIO EXTENDER".
         Walk west, behind the wall with the keys.

6  The little hall in the police station.

         Walk west out of the police station.

7  Outside the police station.

         Your car is to the west and to the south.You're supposed to
         do the "VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION" descriped in your manual.
         Get into your car, but before pressing F4 the second time, type
         "LOOK IN THE CAR","GET THE NIGHTSTICK" and then press F4.

8  Driving your car

         You now have 30 points and a map over the part of Lytton City where
         the station resides.I recommend reading "REFERENCE CARD -
         IN YOUR CAR" and "BASICS EVERY OFFICER SHOULD KNOW - DRIVING CODES"
         so that you get more information about driving, what the codes are
         used for, and how to change them.
         Now you are supposed to patrol until you get a message about a car
         accident (point h on the map), drive there.
         Get out of the car (Guess how?).

9  The crashed car

         Walk to the driver's door on the crashed car.
         Type "LOOK AT THE MAN"
         "HELP THE MAN"
         "RADIO DISPATCH" (or press CTRL-D)
         Walk over to the crowd at the right side of the wreck.
         Type "TALK TO THE CROWD". A young man have by now stepped forward,
         wanting to give you information about the crash.
         Type "DID YOU GET THE LICENSE NUMBER?"
         "RADIO DISPATCH".
         Wait for another police car to arrive and listen to your boss.
         Patrol the streets.

10  Patrolling the streets

         Now you're out patrolling again, drive around until you get a
         message from Steve about seeing him at Carol's (point b on the map).
         Drive there.

11  Carol's Caffeine Castle and Wino Willy's

         Enter Carol's.

12  Carol's

         Find Steve. type "SIT DOWN".
         TALK TO STEVE"
         Wait for the coffee. Shortly afterwards you get a phone call.
         Type "STAND". Walk to the phone. Type "USE PHONE".
         Walk back to your table and sit down.
         Type "TALK TO STEVE" again. Wait until Steve says it's time
         to get to work again. Exit Carol's and get into the car.

13  Patrolling the streets

         You're out patrolling again. Be observant, you are supposed to see
         a red car neglecting the traffic lights. After seeing that try
         stopping the red car. The easiest way stopping cars is to be close
         behind the car using an appropiate code.

14  The stopped red sports car

         Walk to the back of the sports car so that you can see the
         license plate. Type "RADIO LICENSE".
         Walk to the driver's door. Type "LOOK AT THE GIRL".
         Now you have her before you (Gosh!).
         Type "HELLO". She will be asking for your name, type "SONNY BONDS".
         She will now claim she did nothing wrong. Type "YOU RAN A RED LIGHT".
         She'll now try to convince you to drop the matter. Type "NO".
         "TYPE HER A TICKET"
         "RETURN DRIVER'S LICENSE TO HER"
         "PLEASE SIGN THE TICKET"
         "GIVE THE TICKET TO THE WOMAN"
         Return to your car no matter what she says, and start patrolling
         the streets again.

15  Patrolling the streets

         You're now patrolling again. Wait for a message about a complaint at
         Carol's. Drive there.

16  Carol's Caffeine Castle and Wino Willy's

         Enter Carol's.

17  Carol's

         Walk up to Carol. Type "ASK CAROL ABOUT COMPLAINT".
         Exit Carol's.

18  Carol's Caffeine Castle and Wino Willy's

         Enter Wino Willy's.

19  Wino Willy's

         Walk to the man in the black coat standing at the bar.
         Type "PLEASE MOVE YOUR MOTORCYCLES".
         Now they are going to try make to you sleep a little harder than you
         usually do (ie never waking up). When you feel trapped use, the night
         stick, which you activate by pressing F10.
         After the gang has left the room, the girl in the bar will adress
         you. Type "TALK TO THE GIRL".
         "DO YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT DRUGS?
         Remember what she said. Start patrolling again.

20  Patrolling the streets.

         Now you're out patrolling again. Do this until you see a car literally
         bumping side to side on the street. Chase the car and stop it.

21  The car with the drunken man.

         Walk to a position from where you can see the license plate.
         Type "RADIO THE LICENSE NUMBER".
         Walk to the driver's door. Type "TALK TO THE MAN".
         "LOOK AT THE MAN"
         "SHOW YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE"
         "GET OUT OF THE CAR"
         Carry out the "INTOXICATED DRIVER PROCEDURES" described in the
         manual (give field sobriety test). When the suspect begs you to
         cuff him, Type "NO".
         "SEARCH THE MAN"
         "GET IN THE PATROL CAR"
         Follow him to the patrol car's back door, Type "OPEN THE BACK DOOR"
         "CLOSE THE BACK DOOR"
         "RADIO FOR A TOW TRUCK"
         Drive to the jail (point g on the map) with the suspect.

22  Outside the jail house.

         Open the door for the suspect and wait until he has gone out, then
         close the doors. Lead the suspect to the stairs. Then walk to the
         gun lockers at the wall of the jail door. Type "OPEN THE GUN LOCKER"
         "PUT MY GUN IN THE LOCKER"
         "LOCK THE LOCKER"
         Walk to the button at the right of the door. Type "PUSH THE BUTTON"
         Then enter when the door opens, your prisoner will follow you.

23  Inside the jail house.

         Walk up to the bailer. Type "BOOK HIM".
         The bailer will now ask what the suspect have done.
         Type "DRUNK DRIVING".
         Then remove cuffs, Type "REMOVE HIS HANDCUFFS".
         Lead him to his cell. Exit the prison.

24  Outside the prison.

         Get your gun from the locker. It is forbidden to have guns in the
         prison. You will get a message saying that you are expected at
         the police station. Drive there.

25  Outside the police station.

         Before leaving the car, Type "REPLACE THE NIGHTSTICK"
         Then enter the station.

26  The little hall in the police station.

         Walk to the table. Type "WRITE A MEMO"
         "PUT THE MEMO IN THE BASKET"
         Then walk to the big hall (assuming you find it ?).

27  The big hall in the police station.

         Listen to Sergeant Dooleys complaints, walk into his office (the
         door at the west wall).

28  Dooleys office.

         Type "LOOK AT THE CHICKEN"
         Type "TALK TO SGT. DOOLEY"
         Exit the office.

29  The big hall in the police station.

         Walk around listening to the police men. They will invite you to a
         (dull?) party at the Blue Room. Enter the dressing room.

30  The dressing room.

         Walk to your locker and open it. Type "CHANGE CLOTHES"
         Now you will get information saying that a shower would do just
         good, but we haven't got time for that yet.
         Type "CHANGE CLOTHES" again.
         You're not going to shower until it is said so.
         Type "TAKE THE KEYS TO THE CORVETTE"
         Close the locker and leave the dressing room.

31  The big hall in the police station.

         Walk to the keys. Type "RETURN PATROL CAR KEYS".
         Walk to the table with the radio extenders.
         Type "RETURN THE RADIO EXTENDER"
         Leave the police station.

32  Outside the police station.

         Your car is the blue Corvette. Get into the car.
         Before leaving, Type "LOOK IN THE CAR"
         "TAKE THE WALLET"
         Now drive to the Blue Room (point e on the map).

33  Outside the Blue Room.

         Enter the Blue Room.

34  The Blue Room.

         Walk to the table where Jack sits and join him.
         Wait until the party is over, then return to the police station.

35  Outside the police station.

         Enter the station and walk to the dressing room.

36  The Dressing Room.

         Walk up to your locker and open it.
         Type "CHANGE CLOTHES"
         "CHANGE CLOTHES" again
         "GET ALL"
         "OPEN BRIEFCASE"
         "GET ALL"
         "CLOSE BRIEFCASE"
         Close the locker and walk to the briefing room.

37  The briefing room.

         Walk to your place.
         Wait until the briefing is over, Type "TAKE NOTES" and write
         your own notes. Then walk to your pigeon hole.
         Type "LOOK IN THE PIGEONHOLE"
         Leave the briefing room.

38   The big hall in the police station.

         Take the patrol car keys and the radio extender, walk out to
         your car and start patrolling.

39   Patrolling the streets.

         You're now out patrolling again. Continue this until you get a
         message about a possibly stolen car. whe you see it's  time to use
         the car codes. Stop the car.

40   The stolen car.

         Don't leave your car! Type "CALL FOR BACKUP". Stay in your car
         until the backup unit arrives. Leave the car, but draw your weapon
         before and load it, read how to do this in the manual. You'll
         find it in the section "REFERENCE CARD - USING YOUR WEAPONS".
         Type "GET OUT OF THE CAR WITH YOUR HANDS UP"
         "HIT THE DIRT"
         When the suspect is lying on the street, approach him with your gun
         drawn. Type "PUT GUN IN HOLSTER"
         "HANDCUFF THE SUSPECT"
         "STAND UP"
         "SEARCH THE MAN"
         "READ HIM HIS RIGHTS"
         "GET TO THE PATROL CAR"
         Follow him to your car, open the back door and close it after him.
         Wait until Jack (the other cop) approaches you.

         Follow him to his cell. On your way out of the jail you will
         get a message saying that you're supposed to go to the
         police station.Drive there. When you get there, walk to Dooley's
         office.

42  Dooley's office.

         Approach the table. When your boss has left the room, walk to the
         other side of the table and look at the memo he has left there.
         Type "READ THE MEMO".
         Then walk to the dressing room.

43  The Dressing room.

         Walk up to your locker and change clothes, take your weapon and
         get your ammo as well. Then walk to your new boss, who resides
         in the room near the exit.
         On the way don't forget to return the keys.

44   Morgan's office.

         Approach his desk and listen to him.
         Then walk out of his room and enter the open door to right of
         Morgan's office.

45   The narcotics office.

         Approach Laura, ie the girl in the corner, she will be informing
         you about your new job. When she has left walk up to the clipboard
         at the west wall. Type TAKE CLIPBOARD". Browse until you find
         "FBI Most-Wanted List". Type "TAKE THE FBI MOST-WANTED LIST"
         "RETURN THE CLIPBOARD"
         Walk to the keys at the west wall if you're not standing there
         already. Type "TAKE THE KEYS"
         Walk to the cabinet at the north wall. Type "OPEN THE DRAWER"
         "READ THE HOFFMAN FILE"
         "KEEP THE HOFFMAN FILE"
         Walk out to the parking lot of the station, take the unmarked
         car and drive to the Court House (point f on the map).
         It is the unmarked car you will be using from now on.

46   Outside the Court House.

         Enter the Court house.

47   In the Court House Reception Room.

         Walk to the reception counter at the east wall. A man appears,
         wait until he has finished talking.
         Type "I NEED TO SEE THE JUDGE".
         When he has finished talking, Type "I NEED A NO BAIL WARRANT".
         He will now be claiming that is has to be an emergency, tell him
         by typing "THIS IS AN EMERGENCY". Now he walks away, when he comes
         back he will be telling you to enter the court room.

48   Inside the Court Room.

         When judge Palmer allows you to talk, Type "MARVIN HOFFMAN".
         When she asks for evidence, Type "THE HOFFMAN FILE".
         When she asks for even more evidence, Type "FBI MOST-WANTED POSTER"
         When she asks what makes these two men the same man, Type "THE TATTOO"
         Walk out and get into your car. Drive to the prison.

49   Inside the the jail.

         Walk to the jailer and Type "GIVE THE JAILER THE NO BAIL WARRANT.
         Return to the police station.'

50   Outside the police station.

         Laura will approach you when you arrives at the police station,
         and she will be telling you to drive to the Lytton City Park
         (point j on the map), drive there.

51  The entrance to the park.

         Enter the park.

52  In the Park.

         Hide behind any of the bushes, so that you can't be seen.
         Draw and load your weapon. Press CTRL-D to tell Laura you're
         ready. Wait until the two dealers start fighting. Press CTRL-D
         again. Type "HALT! POLICE!". One of the suspects will flee but
         he will be taken care of by Laura. Approach the suspect with your
         weapon drawn. When you're next to him Type "PUT MY GUN IN MY HOLSTER"
         "CUFF THE MAN"
         "READ HIM HIS RIGHTS"
         "SEARCH THE MAN"
         "LOOK AT THE IDENTIFICATION CARD"
         "LOOK AT THE DOPE"
         "QUESTION SIMMS" twice.
         Type "FOLLOW ME" and return to your car, to the back door.
         But don't open the door yet. Type "QUESTION COLBY" twice.
         Now open the back door, and close the door after the suspects.
         Drive to the prison, but on the way there press CTRL-D.

53   Inside the jail.

         Approach the jailer and Type "BOOK THE MEN".
         "DRUGS"
         "REMOVE THE HANDCUFFS"
         Return to the station.

54   Outside the police station.

         Laura will advise you to drive to the Blue Room, do as she says.

55   The Blue Room.

         Walk to Jack's table and join him. Talk to him.
         Wait until he has left. Then Keith will arrive and talk to you.
         Wait until he has left.
         Return to the station and enter Morgan's office.

56   Morgan's office.

         Approach him and listen to what he says.
         Then walk to the big hall and to the north wall where the evidence
         is kept. Wait until Russ (that's his name) has finished talking.
         Type "MAY I SEE THE BLACK BOOK, PLEASE?"
         When you're finished browsing the book,
         Type "RETURN THE BLACK BOOK".
         "MAY I EXAMINE THE WEAPON?"
         "READ THE TAG"
         "RETURN THE WEAPON"
         Walk to the computer room, that's the only room you've never visited
         in the station. To the west of the table.

57   The computer room.

         Walk up to the computer and Type "TURN ON THE COMPUTER"
         Type "SW9764912" and remember what you see.
         Type "TURN OFF THE COMPUTER".
         Exit the room and walk to your desk.

58   The narcotics office.

         Use the telephone on your desk. Type "USE THE TELEPHONE".
         Dial "1-312-555-3382".
         When you get an answer, Type"INFORMATION ON TASELLI".
         Walk to Morgan's office.

59   Morgan's office.

         Walk up to his desk, and when he has finished talking, drive
         to the jail.

60   Inside the prison.

         Walk to the girl who is in one of the cells.
         When she stops talking, Type "HELP WITH THE HOTEL OPERATION".
         Leave the prison and drive to Cotton Cove (point p on the map).

61   At Cotton Cove.

         Leave your car and walk to the body.
         Type "REMOVE THE BLANKET"
         "OPEN THE SHIRT"
         "COVER THE BODY"
         "RADIO DISPATCH" (or press CTRL_D)
         Return to the police station and enter Morgan's office.

62   Morgan's office.

         Approach your boss, you will now get your agent costume, bleach
         and stick. Walk to your desk.

63   Narcotics office.

         Use the telephone. Dial "0". Dial "411". Type "COBB"
         Dial the number you got. "555-2622".
         Dial "411" again. Type "WILLIAMS".
         Dial the number you got. "555-4522".
         When he asks who you are, answer "THIS IS SONNY BONDS".
         When he asks what you want, answer "HOFFMAN".
         Walk to the dressing room, but leave your radio at the
         table on the way there.

64   The Dressing Room.

         Walk up to your locker and open it.
         Type "CHANGE CLOTHES" once.
         Close the locker and walk to the east shower.
         Type "TURN THE SHOWER ON".
         "LOOK AT THE BLEACH".
         "USE THE BLEACH".
         "WET MY HAIR".
         "RINSE MY HAIR".

         Walk to your locker and open it.

         When he is ready, walk to the other side of the desk and look at his

         Drive to the Hotel Delphoria (point a on the map).

66   Outside the Hotel Delphoria.

         Enter the hotel.

67   In the lobby.

         Walk up to the reception, Type "RING THE BELL".
         Wait until the man arrives, then Type "RENT A ROOM"
         "PAY FOR THE ROOM".
         Walk to the bar, it's situated in the nearby room.
         (Up to the west).

68   In the bar.

         Walk to the bar and order a beer.Type "BEER".
         Sweet Cheeks Marie (you know who that is by now!!)
         will now discover you.
         Walk to the table and sit down with her.
         When the bartender returns with the drinks,
         Type "PAY THE BARTENDER".
         When he returns with the change Marie will introduce you to him and
         shec will leave to powder herself (!!!).
         The bartender will now start talking.
         After Marie has returned, stand up and walk to the bartender.
         Type "GIVE THE BARTENDER MONEY".
         Return to the lobby.
                                        
69   In the lobby.

         Type "LOOK AT THE KEY".
         Enter the elevator. Type "PRESS TWO".

70   On the second floor with the elevator.

         Walk east.

         Walk up to Woody. He will be searching you before he fixes you in to
         the illegal gambling room.

75   In the gambling room.

         Walk to the unoccupied chair and sit down.
         In the manual there are a very detailed description of how to
         play poker (in case you don't now how).
         Play until you have won.
         Return to your room afterwards.

76   In the hotel room.

         Wait until your assistans arrive. Walk to the man to the west.
         Type "GIVE ME THE TRANSMITTER PEN".
         Return to the bar.

77   In the bar.

         Walk to the bartender and Type "FRANK SENT ME".
         Now follow Woody to the Big game north of the gambling room.

78   In the high stakes gambling room.

         Sit down on the unoccupied chair and play until they get bored.
         Frank will ask two questions, answer both with  "YES".
         Follow him until you're standing outside Frank's room.

79   In the corridor.

         Wait until Frank has gone into his room.
         Type "USE THE PEN" (or press CTRL-D).
         Now enter the room.

80   In Frank's luxury suite.

         Relax and enjoy the end.

Solution #3 for Police Quest: In Pursuit of the Death Angel

This here is a pointcheck for the epic Police Quest I:In Pursuit of the
Death Angel. Sure, it's a technical dinosaur, but it was the beginning
of what is, in my opinion, the greatest computer game series in history.
Yeah, you heard me. Ultima? King's Quest? The heck with both of them.
Give me Police Quest any day. This 1987 game is still sold as part of
the Police Quest Collection, on sale from Sierra On-Line, which includes
all the Police Quest games to date.

Make sure you realize: this is for the original no-mouse pixel graphics
version of Police Quest I. There is a newer version with nice VGA
graphics using the mouse. There is a pointcheck available for it; if you
can't find it in the same place you found this one, e-mail me. If you
need any help with either game, please e-mail me. My address is above.

You'll see at the bottom that if this pointcheck is followed exactly,
you can score 246 points, one more than the game has as the maximum
score. But a long, long time ago, I got 249 points. I don't know how,
but I did it. If there's any tricks you know that I've forgotten, I'd
love to hear them; please e-mail me.

intended to be used for someone who's already beaten the game and missed

Solution #4 for Police Quest: In Pursuit of the Death Angel

 I was very surprised to see that in all the years that the VGA version of
Police Quest 1 has been available, no one has written a walkthru for it. So
here it is. This guide, if followed directly, will take you all the way
through the VGA version of Police Quest 1: In Pursuit of the Death Angel.

 Make sure you realize that this guide is for the updated, VGA version. It has
nice graphics, lots of dialogue, a decent soundtrack, and it uses the mouse.
If you attempt to follow this walkthrough when playing the ancient, EGA
graphics version of the game, you'll be infinitely confused. Just make sure
that the version you're playing uses the mouse and you'll be okay.

 If followed closely, this walkthru will get you through with the full 225
points possible. However, if you think you followed it and you still find
yourself short a few points, then take a look at my pointcheck for this game.
It should be in the same place you found this walkthrough. I can also give you
any extra help you need with any area of the game. My e-mail address is

 Here we go....

 Watch the intro if you feel so inclined. It's just credits. Read the little
magazine excerpts at the beginning; they set the stage for what's to come. Now
you're pulling into the police station. There you are; Sonny Bonds, Lytton
patrolman. Ready for another day fighting crime.

 LYTTON POLICE STATION

 Walk through the hallway, off to the right. You should now be in the main
hallway, with three doors. Look at each one. The door on the far right leads
to the locker room. Enter that one (by clicking the Hand on it).

 Now you're in the locker room. The locker in the center of the room is yours.
Open it using the combination, which is in your manual. *NOTE* I will NOT, I
repeat NOT, give the combination through e-mail. It's copy protection
information. If you do not have the PQ1VGA manual, you'll need to contact
Sierra about it. Do not ask me for the combo.

 Once the locker's open, grab your towel. Unlike the EGA version, you can't
skip your shower. Walk into the shower area to clean up. Once you're finished,
open your locker again and get your uniform on. Then get your nightstick, your
ticket book, and your Corvette keys. Even though you don't need those keys,
you still get points. Exit the locker room the way you came in.

 Once back in the hall, enter the central door. This is the briefing room.
Look in your pigeonhole (right side, second from the bottom). Get the note
inside. Now pick up the newspaper on the table. After you finish reading it,
people will start to file in. Take your seat; you're standing right next to
it. Here comes Sergeant Dooley. You may want to write down the important
things he says; it'll come in handy later. Once everyone's gone, follow them
back to the hall.

 In the main hallway, take a set of keys from the pegboard on the wall and a
radio extender from the table. Exit to the left, and keep walking all the way
to the parking garage. Once there, you have to do a safety check. This
involves walking fully around your squad car. You will be told once you've
successfully done this. Click the hand on your car, and you're off!

 I'm not going to explain the driving interface, or the map. The game will
take care of that for you. For now, drive around aimlessly. Once you get
called, head for that 11-80 on Fig Street between 4th and 3rd. It's in the top
left map, the street in front of the McDonald's. Driving by it will be enough
to stop the car and you'll automatically get out.

 CAR ACCIDENT

 Looks like a mess. Look inside the car at the driver. Yuck. Now feel for a
pulse or vital signs. Nothing at all. This one's dead, Bonds. Click your radio
on yourself to call Dispatch for the meat wagon. Now it's time to find
witnesses. Click Talk on the people, and a young man will come forward. Once
he finishes, keep talking to him until he gives up the license plate number.
Call Dispatch again. By this time, Dooley will probably have arrived. Get back
in your car and head on out.

 CAFFEINE CAROL'S

 Once you get called by Dispatch again, drive to Caffeine Carol's (top left
building in the top right map). Turn into the "driveway". Get out of your car
and walk in through the door. There's your friend Steve, on the bar stool. Sit
to the right of him. In the midst of your conversation, the phone will ring.
After Carol tells you it's for you, pick it up and talk to Hamilton. Once
you're finished, sit back on your stool. When Steve's finished talking, get up
and walk out. Don't bother to stop by Wino Willy's; you'll be there later. Get
in your car and hit the road.

 SPEEDER

 This part is different. Instead of driving around, waiting for Dispatch to
call, you drive around waiting for a red car to cut you off. Once the car
blazes by, immediately hit your siren. DO NOT TURN AFTER THE CAR. If you don't
hit your siren, you'll lose the car. Once you've pulled the babe over, don't
get out of your car yet. Look at her license plate and radio dispatch. Now you
can get out of your car. Look at the driver. Now talk to her. Once she goes
through her seduction spiel, go into your inventory and use your pen on your
ticket book. Give her the ticket. When given the option, select "Ticket".
After she vents her spleen, get back in your car and take off.

 CAFFEINE CAROL'S

 Don't stray too far from Carol's, because you'll shortly be called back for a
complaint. Once you're back, get out and take a look at the bikes. Gee, wonder
what this complaint is about. Go inside, talk to Carol, and she pours her
heart out. Sigh. Go back outside, through the alley, and to the entrance to
Wino Willy's. Observe the young couple. Ah, young love. Feel free to yell "Get
a room!" at your screen. Enter the bar. (*NOTE* Make sure you have your
nightstick with you!) The bikers will give you their tough act. Simply click
your nightstick on the big guy and it's over. Look at the woman by the
jukebox; go talk to her. This is a very important conversation; make sure you
don't skip it. After it's over, go back to Carol's, let her know things are
over, then get in your car and head out.

 DRUNK DRIVER

 Head south for a while until you're cut off by a drunk driver. Hit your siren
(remember to hit the siren before doing anything else). Now that he's pulled
over, look at his license plate. Radio it in to Dispatch. Now get out of your
car, go up to him, and look at him. Sad. Talk to him. Talk again and he'll
give you his license. Talk to him one more time and you'll administer the
field sobriety test. Now that's entertainment. Talk again, informing him he's
under arrest. Cuff him, and answer "No" when he asks to be cuffed in front.
Open your backdoor and he'll get in. Now get in yourself. Off to the slammer.

 LYTTON CITY JAIL

 The jail is in the bottom center of the bottom right map. Once there, get out
and get your prisoner out. Now, this part is very important: Open the top left
storage locker by the door, and put your gun inside. If you don't do this
every time you go in the jail, you won't come out alive. Push the entry buzzer
and you'll be let in. Now, talk to the jailer. You can book this guy for all
manner of things: reckless driving, speeding, drunk driving, not in control of
faculties, running a red light (?), and running a stop sign (??). (*NOTE* The
codes are also copy protection information in your manual. Do not ask for
them). After you've entered all the codes, just hit enter and tell your
prisoner to move to the center of the room. Remove his handcuffs (by clicking
Hand on him). Once he's locked up, Detective Laura Watts shows up to let you
know that Narcotics is accepting transfer requests. It's your dream to be
undercover, Bonds...this is your chance. On your way out, get your gun back
out of the storage locker. Head for the station. Before you get there, you'll
get radioed to go there anyway.

 LYTTON POLICE STATION

 First things first: fill out a transfer form. Once inside, you see those memo
slots on the left side of the elevator? Click Hand on them to fill out the
request. Now, go see the Sarge. Go one screen east. Just let this scene play
out; you'll end up in Dooley's office and be kicked back out. Now go into the
locker room and open your locker. Put on your street clothes. Make sure you
take your Corvette keys again. Out in the hallway, replace your radio extender
and your patrol car keys. Head outside, and get in your blue Corvette. Now
you're bound for Jack's birthday party at the Blue Room.

 THE BLUE ROOM

 The Blue Room is two blocks northwest of the Police Station. It's a very nice
little hangout. Inside you'll find the birthday boy, Jack Cobb. Talk to him
and he asks you to sit down. Oblige him, talk to him, talk again, and let the
scene play out. He pours out his heart to you and a celebration ensues. Trust
me, it makes sense. At the end, Keith reminds you that you have to haul butt
back to the station for your next shift. Do it.

 LYTTON POLICE STATION

 Same routine as the beginning of the game. Go to the locker room, put on your
uniform, get your nightstick and ticket book, and attend the briefing. Grab
your radio extender, patrol car keys, and go outside and get in your car. The
neverending battle continues.

 STOLEN CAR

 This is probably the section I've gotten the most e-mails on since I posted
my companion pointchecks many months ago, so pay close attention and follow

every step if you're having trouble. I am always open to e-mail questions,

but make sure you've gone through this first before asking. Alright. Soon
after hitting the road, you'll get called to a domestic disturbance at 1st and
Lilly. What you need to do is go through this intersection (it works best if
you go in a southerly direction) and then you'll be informed of a stolen car.
Right after getting this call, you should see the car at the next
intersection. Hit the siren and you'll pull him over. Now, the fun begins.
Look at the car to get the license plate. Radio it in to Dispatch. Then, radio
Dispatch again to call for backup. Wait for Jack to arrive and be fully in
place on your passenger side. Open your door, get out, and while standing
behind your car door, draw your gun (click it on yourself). Now, talk to him
and order him out of the car. As soon as he's out, talk to him again to get
him to halt. Then, talk to him again immediately until he's lying on the
ground. Click the handcuffs on him now. Once he's arrested and in your car,
read him his rights (by talking). The bust is now complete; time to search the
car. Click the Hand icon on his door for a closeup; click Hand again on the
paint. You'll scratch the paint away, revealing the VIN, and revealing this is
the stolen car from the morning briefing! Click outside the closeup to return
to the normal view, then click the Hand inside the car where the glove box is.
You have a closeup of the glove box. Click Hand on the black book and the
licenses to look at them, then push the small button to the left of the black
book. You'll pop the trunk. Get out, and click Hand on the trunk to open it
and look inside. Make sure you Look at the drugs before walking away. Get in
your car, and head for the jail.

 LYTTON CITY JAIL

 Get out, let Hoffman out, lock up your gun, and push the buzzer to get in.
Once inside, talk to the jailer, and book Hoffman for posession of a
controlled substance, concealed weapon, stolen vehicle, and evading arrest.
Now talk to your prisoner and remove his cuffs. Here comes Jack, to tell you
Dooley wants to see you back at home base. Off you go.

 LYTTON POLICE STATION

 Head for Dooley's office. He'll leave you to read the memo. Do so. Looks like
you got what you wanted; a transfer to Narcotics. Now go back to the locker
room, open up your locker, and get your plainclothes. You can leave everything
else in the locker. On your way out, replace the patrol car keys on the hall
pegboard. Keep your radio, though. Now go one screen left, and push the button
to take the elevator upstairs. The door right in front of you on the second
floor is Morgan's office; go inside and listen to the briefing. Now leave, go
one screen right, and enter your new office. Laura gives you the grand tour.
Now you've got to start digging up evidence to put Hoffman away. First thing;
open up the bottom-center filing cabinet. Click the Hand on the files to open
up the Hoffman file. Read through it and keep it. Now you need to go find
more; head downstairs to the evidence lockup. Give the Hoffman file to Ross,
and when he brings the evidence, get the gun. Make a note of the serial
number. Now go back to Narcotics, and get on your computer. Click on Weapons,
and enter the serial number from the gun. Hmmm, it's registered to a Jason
Taselli, and there's an FBI case number. Go to your FBI database and enter
that case number. Up pops Jason Taselli's file. Hmmm...he has a tattoo of a
rose over his left nipple. Just like Marvin Hoffman. It now dawns on you;
these men are one and the same. And Taselli is a very wanted man. Print the
file out, quit the computer, and take the printout. Take a set of car keys
from the pegboard, and hurry downstairs. Take the unmarked car on the right
side of the parking lot, and head for the courthouse. Time's a'wastin!

 LYTTON COURTHOUSE

 Once you arrive at the courthouse, open the doors and go inside. Talk to
Oliver, the clerk. He won't allow you to speak to the judge. Talk to him
again. Still no dice. Talk a third time and he'll cave. Now, go through the
doors to see the judge. Tell him you're here for a no-bail warrant. He asks
for evidence. Give the Hoffman folder to the bailiff. The judge grants the
warrant. High-tail it out of there, and to the jail.

 LYTTON CITY JAIL

 Arriving at the jail, the first thing you notice is how awkwardly you parked!
You'll see what I mean once you see this part of the game. :) Anyway, it's not
necessary to store your gun. Just push the button and go in. Give the warrant
to the jailer. Nice job, Bonds! Go outside, and get in your car. You'll
automatically go back to the station, where Laura will meet you and inform you
of a drug deal going on in the park. Now you must drive to Bert's Park and
fight some more crime. Your job is never done.

 BERT'S PARK

 After Laura drops you off and gives you instructions, enter the park. Walk
behind the bushes in front of the lake on the left side of the screen. Draw
your gun and radio Laura. Now we play the waiting game. Eventually the dealer
comes out. Deny the urge to plug him and wait for his client to come out.
You'll see their transaction. Once it's done, and they begin going their
separate ways, it's time to make your move. Don't yell, just run out of the
bushes. If you do this quickly enough, you should catch the kid before he's
offscreen. If you don't...hope you saved the game. Once the kid is halted,
question him and read him his rights. Put your gun away. Try to cuff him, and
he'll resist. Do it anyway. Now search him, and you'll go back to Laura, where
she's got the dealer. (*NOTE* If you're playing the Collection version and the
game locks up at this point, there's a patch for it on Sierra's website.)
Laura attempts to question Colby and gets nowhere, so talk to your suspect.
When the sequence is finished, you'll be back on the road. Head for the jail.

 LYTTON CITY JAIL

 Just can't get over how dumb your car looks parked there. :) Anyhoo, Laura
takes the prisoners inside. Store your gun in the locker and push the button
to enter the jail. Talk to Paul and book the suspects for possession of a
controlled substance and possession of cocaine. Tell them to move to the
center of the room, and remove their cuffs. Laura leaves, telling you to go to
the Blue Room and cheer up Jack. Follow her out, get your gun, and get goin'
to the Blue Room.

 THE BLUE ROOM
                                        
 This is pretty simple. Go in and sit down next to Jack. Talk to him twice. He
tells you his daughter's in the hospital. He's obviously drunk. Now Keith
comes in and tells you that Taselli has escaped. Jack leaves in a cab, and you
find yourself outside. Morgan wants to see you at the station ASAP, so jump in
your car and head there.

 LYTTON POLICE STATION

 Head up to Morgan's office on the second floor. He tells you he wants you to
examine the evidence. Go back down to the evidence lockup, give Russ the
Hoffman file, and take the black book. Look through it. See if some of the
initials ring a bell in your mind. Don't worry if they don't. :) Head back up
to Morgan's office. He sends you off to the jail to see Marie Wilkans and talk
to her about setting up a sting. To the jail you go.

 LYTTON CITY JAIL

 It's not important that you store your gun in the locker, since you don't
have a prisoner. Push the button and go in. You'll automatically talk to Marie
and ask her to help with the hotel operation. Once you're done, you can get in
your car and leave. As you're driving back to the station, you get called to
Cotton Cove, in the bottom-right corner of the map.

 COTTON COVE

 Once you arrive, talk to the officers. You've got a dead body here. Walk up
to him and pull the sheet off. Now look at him. There's the tattoo of the red
nipple. It's Taselli. Tell the officers your findings, get back in your car,
and head back to the station.

 LYTTON POLICE STATION

 Head straight for Morgan's office for your briefing. Laura gives you your
bleach and your disguise. Once everyone's done, go to the locker room. Get
your towel and take a shower. Nice hair, Bonds. :) When you're done, put on
your leisure suit. Aren't you just a pimp. Don't go getting an ego or
anything. Now get back to Morgan's office for the final briefing. Dooley comes
in to tell you that Jack's daughter has died. Now you've got some serious
motive to shut down these guys. Go down to the parking garage and get in your
unmarked car. Ready? Go to the Hotel Delphoria.

 HOTEL DELPHORIA

 You're here. Get psyched. Walk through the automatic front door. Ring the
bell on the front desk and go through your spiel with the clerk. He gives you
your room key. Now, you've got a job to do. Head through the door to the right
of the elevator. You're in the lounge. Talk to the bartender, Alex, and Marie
will recognize you. Talk to Marie to get some info. Talk to the bartender
again. Marie will leave so you and Alex can talk. You get invited to the poker
game. Good going so far. You'll go up to your room with Marie. She, uh,
propositions you. Save your game and then click the Hand on her. Heh. Now
restore your game and talk to her instead. Pick up the phone and call
555-3784, Lieutenant Morgan's number. After you talk to him, call 411 to get
the cab company's number. Call that number and Marie will go downstairs to
wait for the cab. Now get ready for the Poker Game.

 POKER GAME

 Go back downstairs to the lounge. Talk to Alex, and then pay her by clicking
your wallet on her. She takes you to the storage room and pats you down.
Eventually you can walk to the backroom. Save your game, and sit down in the
empty seat at the table next to you. Once the friendly conversation is done,
you must choose whether or not you're going to play poker. If you do play, you
better win, or the game's over, and you can't save your game while you're
playing. But if you choose to skip the game and win, then you won't get the 15
points. It's up to you. In any case, once the game is done and you've won,
you're invited back for a bigger game later. Go back up to your room and call
Morgan. He tells you to wait for your backup. So wait. Once your backup
arrives, gives you your pen and money, and leaves, go back down to the lounge.
Talk to the bartender again. You go through the whole routine again and end up
in the back backroom. Have a seat. When Frank comes down and asks if you'd be
interested in talking business, say yes. Now again you must decide whether to
play and chance losing or skip the game and lose 15 points. After the game get
in the elevator with Frank and go up to his penthouse for the final
confrontation.

 FRANK'S PENTHOUSE

 Once you're here, Frank tells you who he really is. Jesse Bains, the Death
Angel. He begins to talk business with you, and then gets a phone call. When
he leaves to take it, don't waste any time. Look at the phone over on the bar
on the other side of the room. It says room number 401 on it. Use your pen on
yourself to relay this information to Dispatch. The rest plays out...

 CONGRATULATIONS!

 You've won Police Quest I! If you haven't already, I strongly suggest you
play 2 and 3 to continue the storyline. It's a classic series that we hope
will continue someday.

 This walkthrough took me more then seven months to write, believe it or not.
That's about a paragraph every three weeks or so. Sorry to those who e-mailed
me that it took me so long; I just put it on the backburner for a loooong
time. Because I wrote it over such a long period of time, I apologize for any
odd writing inconsistencies. Grisham I ain't. ;-)

1. Your Car Will Drive Into The Police Station, And You Will Walk Inside. Look
At The Bulletin
    Board. Walk To The Right.
2. Pick Up The Key That Is Hanging On The Wall. Pick Up The Radio Extender.
3. Walk To The Door On The Right. This Is The Locker Room. Open The Middle
Locker In
    The Middle Row. The Combination Is 269.
4. Pick Up The Towel. Walk To The Shower. You Will Automatically Take A Shower.
5. Walk Back To Locker And Open It ( 269 ). Pick Up Your Uniform, Night Stick,
    Ticket Book, And Keys. Close Your Locker And Exit The Room.
6. Walk Into The Room To The Left Of The Keyholder.
7. Pick Up And Read The Newspaper. Walk To The Pigeonholes. Your Pigeonhole Is
In The 2nd
    Row, Right Corner. Pick Up Note In Your Pigeonhole.
8. Walk To 1st Table. Sit In 1st Chair In First Table. Listen To The Briefing.
Leave The Room.
9. Walk To The Right. In This Screen Use The Memo Slot Next To The Elevator. You

11. Walk Around The Patrol Car One Time. This Is A Safety Inspection. Then Get
