Hint: Having trouble with that goat in Loch Marne? Oddly enough, this is one of
the most difficult puzzles of the game. It's a timed sequence, although it
doesn't look like one. Let the goat knock you down on the right side of the
screen, click on the ladder, and then click on the plow on the left side of
the screen as quickly as you can.
                                        
Hint: Run into a funds problem in Syria? Dwayne, the tourist wandering around
the marketplace, has the $50 you need. You just need to find an "antiquity" to
sell him, and buff it up a little.

Solution #2 for Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars

На протяжении всей игры вы управляете американским туристом
Джорджем Стоббартом, любопытство которого не знает границ
и поэтому он не ленится со всеми разговаривать и выспрашивать
 все до мелочей.

Париж (часть 1)

Возьмите газету и зайдите в кафе, после разговора с официанткой
выйдите и отправляйтесь направо по улице. После допроса в кафе
познакомьтесь на улице с француженкой Нико (девушка с фотоаппаратом).
Поговорите с ней о клоуне и о его жертве до тех пор, пока она не даст
вам свой номер телефона. Идите к рабочему и отдайте ему газету. Возьмите
из его ящика под тентом инструмент для открывания люков. Вернувшись
обратно на площадь перед кафе, идите направо под арку, откройте
инструментом крышку люка и спуститесь вниз. В канализации найдите
3 предмета: нос клоуна, тряпочку и зеленый лоскуток. Поднимитесь
наружу через другой люк. Покажите визитную карточку инспектора Россо
консьержу. Покажите ему лоскуток и спросите о жакете. Попрощайтесь и
выходите на улицу через ворота. Под тентом рабочего найдите телефон
и позвоните Нико. Идите по улице дальше направо и экран сменится
картой Парижа.
 Выберите «Rue Jarry».

Поговорите с продавщицей цветов, чтобы уточнить адрес Нико. Если дверь
не поддается, поговорите с цветочницей снова. Идите в квартиру Нико.
Покажите лоскуток девушке и возьмите фотографию. Покажите ей клоунский
нос, поговорите о нем. Выйдя из квартиры, идите по улице налево.

Выберите «Risee du Monde». В магазинчике покажите торговцу маскарадными
костюмами фотографию, расспросите о клоуне, уходя из магазинчика возьмите
в подарок электрошок.

Позвоните портному Тодрику и спросите о жакете и о Хане (используйте
иконку фотографии). Отправляйтесь в отель Ubu.

В отеле поговорите с пожилой леди, музицирующей на рояле, и покажите
ей фото. Попробуйте украсть у консьержа ключ. Спросите у леди о ключе.
Когда консьерж уйдет прятать в сейф драгоценности, возьмите ключ. Идите
наверх и откройте ключом первую комнату справа. Откройте в ней окно и
выберетесь за окно на карниз. Проберитесь по карнизу к окну справа.
Не обнаружив в следующей комнате ничего интересного, попробуйте выйти
через дверь. Спрячьтесь в шкафу. Когда Хан уйдет, поищите и заберите в
брюках, которые оставлены на кровати, ID card и спичечную книжечку.
Спуститесь вниз в холл и спросите у консьержа о том, что Хан оставил
в сейфе, и покажите ему ID card. Потом покажите пожилой леди ID card
(она вам поможет). Вернитесь в первую комнату, снова выберитесь на карниз
и бросьте манускрипт вниз. Уходите из отеля (вас обыщут Флэп и Гидо).
Зайдите через арку на черный двор отеля и подберите манускрипт.
Вы автоматически окажетесь в квартире Нико. Поговорите с ней о
манускрипте. Выйдете из квартиры.

Выберите на карте «Museum». Зайдите в музей. Рассмотрите треножник в
стеклянной витрине. Возвращайтесь в квартиру Нико и скажите ей, что вы
отправляетесь в Ирландию. Выберете на карте «Airport», затем «Ireland».

Ирландия (часть 2)

Поговорите с мальчиком у паба о профессоре Peagram и о раскопках.
Зайдите в бар. Поговорите с горьким пьяницей в углу, попрощайтесь с ним.
Подождите, пока он начнет делать из проволочек ловушку для кроликов и
оставит ее на столе. БЫСТРО схватите ее, пока он чихает. Поговорите со
странным нервным Фитцжеральдом, сидящим за круглым столиком, перед
которым лежит маленькая коробочка. Поговорите с завсегдатаями паба о
раскопках, Пиграме, Фитцджеральде, пока не исчерпаете эту тему. Купите
им пива за свой счет. Пока один из них пьет, стащите у него из под локтя
зеленое полотенце. Снова спросите Фитцджеральда о раскопках. Выйдите на
улицу и спросите мальчика о Фитцджеральде. Вернитесь в бар и продолжите

убежит и в бар вбежит мальчик, выйдите наружу. Рядом с дверью бара открылся
переключатель энергии (крышка слетела после аварии), поверните его и таким
образом отключите пивной насос. Вернувшись в паб и допив пиво, закажите еще.
Покажите владельцу паба ID card. Начните чинить моечную машину: выньте
вилку из розетки, обмотайте ее проволочкой, вставьте обратно. Идите в
дверь за стойкой, спуститесь в подвал, нащупайте в темноте рычаг и поверните
его. Выйдите на улицу, откройте квадратный люк, снова через бар спуститесь
в подвал и найдите алмаз и фонарик. Намочите под струей воды полотенце.
Покиньте паб и идите направо к замку. Расскажите фермеру о происшествии с
Фитцджеральдом, когда он уйдет, вскарабкайтесь на стог, вставьте инструмент
для открывания люков в щелку в стене, заберитесь на стену замка. Чтобы
отвлечь козла, идите к отверстию, ведущему в подземелье (справа), потом
БЫСТРО вскакивайте на ноги и воздействуйте на плужный лемех слева.
Спуститесь в подземелье, найдите штукатурку. Уроните каменного идола,
потом поднимите его и исследуйте отпечатки на песке. Насыпьте в ямки
штукатурку, положите сверху мокрое полотенце (если полотенце высохло,
вернитесь в бар и намочите его снова). Выньте гипсовую копию из песка
и приложите к отверстиям в стене. Войдите в секретную комнату.

Париж (часть 3)

Покажите Нико алмаз. Выйдя из ее квартиры, отправляйтесь на «Police Station».
Спросите у сержанта Му о спичечной книжечке, о Марке. Отправляйтесь в
«Hospital». В госпитале спросите у девушки в приемной о Марке, покажите
ей ID card. В коридоре выньте вилку полотера из розетки, после того, как
служащий отвлечется, подойдите к двери рядом с полотером и возьмите белый
халат. Зайдите в палату и поговорите с медсестрой Грендель. Она даст вам
прибор для измерения давления. Вернитесь в приемную и поговорите с доктором,
вернитесь в палату. Поговорите с крайним пациентом справа, потом с вашим
помощником Бенуаром. Отдайте Бенуару прибор и велите измерить давление
(правая иконка с лицом пациента). Идите направо в комнату Марке и говорите
с ним. После всех приключений и бесед с Нико, отправляйтесь в музей. В музее
поговорите с Лобино о манускрипте и всем-всем-всем, пока он не скажет вам об
Испании. Когда охранник не смотрит в вашу сторону, потяните за цепь и
откройте окно. Пока он будет закрывать его, БЫСТРО спрячьтесь в саркофаг
мумии. Ночью, когда грабители услышат вас, спрячьтесь за тотемный столб и
толкните его.

Выберите на карте «Montfaucon». Подойдите к жонглеру на площади и предложите
пожонглировать. Потом поговорите с жандармом и покажите ему клоунский нос.
Снова вернитесь к жонглеру и предложите пожонглировать, одев красный нос.
Когда жандарм и жонглер уйдут, с помощью инструмента откройте люк и
спуститесь в подземелья. Исследуйте три замурованные арки в стене рядом
с лодкой. С помощью инструмента расковыряйте штукатурку в крайней правой,
ударив несколько раз инструментом вы сломаете механизм и войдете внутрь.
(Есть другой способ: исследовать механизм, зайти на лодку и, вращая лебедку,
освободить цепь, сойти на берег, взять крюк на конце цепи и соединить с
механизмом, зайти снова на лодку и повернуть лебедку). Зайдите в секретную
дверь и подойдите к просвету в стене, подсмотрите сквозь дыру за тайной
встречей, посмотрите в дыру снова, чтобы убедиться, что все ушли. Спуститесь
 в зал, поставьте треножник в центр круга, положите на него алмаз.

Поговорив с Нико, отправляйтесь в Испанию.

Испания

Используйте прибор для измерения давления на основании шланга садовника
(около окна). Войдите в дом. Спрячьтесь за доспехами рыцаря. Поднимитесь
по лестнице, поговорите с графиней обо всем. В склепе возьмите Библию с
аналоя, исследуйте его, поговорите об этом с графиней. Поговорите с графиней,
пока Лопес ходит за шахматами. Решите головоломку: епископ (слон) должен
оказаться наверху, рыцарь (конь) - в середине, король - внизу. Возьмите
чашу. После возвращения в Париж и разговора с Нико отправляйтесь в Сирию.

Сирия

Идите в маленькую арку справа от торговца кебабами, поднимитесь по лестнице
и покажите торговцу коврами спичечную книжечку. Поднимитесь в клуб Alamut
и попытайтесь зайти в туалет. Попытайтесь прочесть табличку на двери.
Спросите таксиста Ултара о табличке на двери и покажите ему фотографию
Хана. Вернитесь на улицу, посмотрите и поговорите с продавцом кебабов.
Поговорите с мальчиком Ниджо из лавки старьевщика о продавце кебабов.
Предложите мальчику красный шар и скажите «да» во время разговора о нем.
Снова поговорите с продавцом, скажите ему «волшебную фразу». Вернитесь на
улицу и поговорите с мальчиком. Вернитесь в клуб и отдайте щетку немому
владельцу. Одним ключом откройте туалет, вторым - шкафчик для полотенца.
Заберите полотенце. Вернитесь к лавке старьевщика. Мальчик должен играть
с мячом. Погладьте кошку и быстро позвоните в звонок на столе. Поднимите
разбитую статуэтку и обмотайте тряпочкой. Продайте эту статуэтку
американскому туристу. Вернитесь в клуб и предложите таксисту 50 $.
Помогите починить грузовик с помощью полотенца. Когда вы приедете в
Bull’s Head, отломите веточку от куста, соедините с полотенцем и положите
на краю разлома, спуститесь по полотенцу вниз. Исследуйте щель в скале,
пока не найдете кольцо, и потяните его. Войдите в храм в скале, исследуйте
тело Клаузнера, изображение Бафомета и надпись на латыни. Не лгите Хану
(выбирайте все время иконку ангела). Скажите, что вы хотите, умереть как
человек. Когда он предложит пожать ему руку, БЫСТРО возьмите электрошок
и БЫСТРО спрыгните с утеса (влево).

Париж

После разговора с Нико отправляйтесь в церковь Montfaucon. Зайдите в церковь
и покажите чашу священнику. Пока он ее чистит, исследуйте все могилы (вы
должны найти шестого тамплиера). Посмотрите на свиток в руках статуи,
вложите в концы свитка линзы, посмотрите на витраж. Поговорите снова со
священником и заберите чашу. Отправляйтесь в музей и поговорите с Лобино
о Бафомете. Отправляйтесь на раскопки храма Бафомета в Istitute Nerval.
Спуститесь в вестибюль, попробуйте зайти в правую дверь, спросите ключи у
охранника. В туалете возьмите мыло и сделайте отпечаток ключа, соединив
его с куском мыла. Положите немного штукатурки и подставьте кусок мыла под
струю воды, потом под сушилку. Верните в вестибюле ключи охраннику. Выйдя
на улицу, попытайтесь покрасить поддельный ключ в ведерке с краской.
Спуститесь снова и позвоните Нико. Вернитесь к маляру и позовите его к
телефону. В его отсутствие покрасьте поддельный ключ. В вестибюле исследуйте
термостат на левой стене, спросите охранника о нем. Переключите термостат,
станет холодно, охранник оденет перчатки. Снова возьмите у него ключи и
зайдите в туалет. Замените один ключ на фальшивый. Отдайте ключи охраннику
(он не почувствует подделки, так как одел перчатки). Позвоните снова Нико,
оставив охранника с маляром на улице, спуститесь в вестибюль, откройте левую
дверь, спуститесь на мозаичный пол и поставьте чашу около идола в месте
сходящихся узоров. После разговора с Нико отправляйтесь в Испанию.
                                        
Испания

Из служебной комнаты возьмите зеркальце. Поговорите с графиней. В склепе
рассмотрите подсвечник под потлком. С помощью шеста закройте окно.
Привяжите к концу шеста тряпочку и зажгите ее от огонька левой свечи.
Зажгите большую свечу и вы получите каменный ключ. Возьмите Библию.
Вернитесь в дом и отдайте ее графине. Поговорите с ней о надписях на
могиле шестого тамплиера. В саду поговорите с Лопесом о колодце и как
его найти. Отломите веточку от дерева рядом со служебной пристройкой
(там, где вы раньше пережали шланг) и покажите ее Лопесу. Откопайте колодец.
Спуститесь вниз и рассмотрите львиную голову, нажмите на пасть. НЕМЕДЛЕННО
отпрыгните (кликнув в левой части экрана). Исследуйте открывшийся проем.
Выйдите на свет и с помощью зеркала пошлите солнечный лучик в темный проем.
Подойдите к нему снова, на ощупь найдите дыру для ключа,потом используйте
каменный ключ из подсвечника. Войдите в секретную комнату. После возвращения
в Париж, Джордж должен отправиться в Шотландию вместе с Нико.

Поезд

Попробуйте выйти из купе. После визита контроллера попробуйте снова выйти
из купе. Идите налево, пока не наткнетесь на Гидо. Возвращайтесь в купе.
Зайдите в соседнее купе и поговорите с толстяком. Откройте окно и выберитесь
на крышу. Идите по крышам вагонов направо и спуститесь по лесенке в багажный
вагон. Когда Гидо будет выброшен из поезда, БЫСТРО дерните стоп-кран слева
от вас. Поговорив с Ханом, потом с Нико, выйдите из вагона через дверь.
Шотландия

Войдите в полуразрушенную церковь, поверните ручку на колесе механизма.
Вы сломаете его и сможете собрать несколько предметов: 2 зубчатых шестеренки
(одна - в механизме, другая - в куче мусора), ось, ручку и пр. Вставьте обе
шестеренки в глаза демона, ручку - в его пасть и крутаните ее. Войдите в
часовню и идите к дальнему выходу. Оказавшись между Гидо и Великим Мастером,
схватите БЫСТРО факел со стены и бросьте на дальнюю кучу пороха.

|call it, or Broken Sword: The shadow of the Templars. A.K.A Broken     |
|Sword: Circle of Blood or just Broken Sword. I know this is a very old |
|game, but I'm working on a walkthrough/....... for the second version  |
|of this game too. It's called Broken Sword 2: The smoking mirror. It's |
|even cooler, sweeter and you can play Nico too, s*xy.                  |
|                                                                       |
|There are rumours that Revolution is making a thirth game of the       |
|adventures with George and Nico. I hope so. I think Broken Sword just  |
|is the best game in the world ever. Except from a lot of newer games,  |
|and........ Well it isn't the best, but when it released, it was.      |
|                                                                       |
|For all those who didn't know yet, if you click with your right button |
|of the mouse, you examine things.                                      |

Section 1: Paris:
ЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇ
Cafй de la chandelle verte (Cafй the Green Candelar)
-------
Pick up the newspaper which is lying under the lamp-post. Walk to the road
works. You’ll be
stopped by two police agents. They’ll go with you to the cafй. The bold man,
Rosso, will ask you
some questions. It doesn’t matter how you respond. After the too long
conversation you’ll get
his card. When you leave the cafй, talk to Nicole, the young female
photographer. Ask once about
the clown, then once about Plantard (the man with the pair of glasses) and
then again about the
clown. She’ll give you her phone-number. Go to the road works again. Talk to
the roadworker and
give him the newspaper. He’ll leave. Use the box which is standing in the
tent and you’ll find a
t-shaped sewer opening tool. Go back to the cafй (not in it, but before it).
Then, go to the left
down the alley. Use the t-shaped sewer tool on the sewer lid to open the
sewers. Go down now.
Pick up the red clown’s nose in the middle of the screen and go further down
the sewers. You’ll
see a tissue and a green piece of cloth. Pick up them both. Go up the
ladder. You’ll find a
red-dressed man. It doesn’t matter how you respond his first question. Give
him Rosso’s card for
some co-operation. Let him see the green piece of cloth - he’ll remember
something now. Ask 4
times about the green jacket, so you’ll get a phone-number from someone
named B. Todryk, then
leave. You are now with the road works again. Now, use the box outside the
tent. It’s a ‘phone,
call Nicole. You’ll get her address. Go to the left and you’ll see a map,
click on Rue Jarry,
that’s where Nicole lives.

Rue Jarry
---------
Talk to the female flower-seller. Ask about Nicole once. Then open
the brown door in the middle on the other site of the street. Let Nicole see
the red nose. She’ll
notice a name from a shop in it. Let her also see the green piece of cloth.
You’ll get a picture,
then leave. Now, go to the left, to the map and click on La Risйe du Monde.
Talk to the seller.
Let him see the picture, then the tissue then again the picture. You’ll get
the name from the guy
on the picture: Kahn. Go anywhere you like to call Todryk (it doesn’t matter
if you do it in the
police office, with Nicole or the ‘phone at the road works). Ask him about
the picture, until
he’ll say that Kahn sleeps in Hotel Ubu. Go there on your map.

Hфtel Ubu
---------
Go in the hotel. Go left and
try to get the key hanging hat the board. The receptionist will not aloud
you to do it. Now, talk
to the receptionist and ask about the picture. He’s sleeping in the hotel,
you’re coming further.
Go to the right and talk to the English lady. Ask about the key until the
item has left. Now show
the picture. You’ll get another name of Kahn: Moerlin. Ask about him until
the lady distracts
the receptionist. Now, quick, get the key hanging at the board. Go upstairs
and use the key with
the first door at the right. Open the window at the right and climb out of
it. Go into the other
room. You can search here whatever you want, but you’ll bound to find
nothing, so leave to the
door at the left. Kahn is coming. When he has left search his trousers.
You’ll get his card and
a matchbook. Now, go downstairs, doesn’t matter how. Talk to the
receptionist about the safe.
Then show him Kahn’s card. Talk to the English lady again. Show her the card
to. She’ll help you
to get Kahn’s documents (actually Plantard’s). Now go upstairs again. Go in
'your' room. Go
outside, via the window. When you are out, throw the documents down the
alley. Leave the hotel
now. You’ll get searched by Flap & Guido, but they’ll find nothing (if they
did, you’ll be dead
now). Go to the right, in the alley and get the documents.

Rue Jarry
---------
You are with Nicole now. You’ll take
a closer look at the documents. You can watch or skip the movie. Talk about
the documents. Then
about the four items on it. Leave Nicole and go to the museum of Lobineau.

Musйe Crune
-----------
Go in the museum. Look at the tripod (the kind of Tower of  Eiffel thing).

Rue Jarry
---------
Go to Nicole, so you know a bit of
Peagram. Without asking something, leave. Go to the airport, to Lochmarne.

Section 2: Lochmarne:
ЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇ
Ask the kid, Maguire, three times about Peagram, then three times about the
dig. Go into the pub.
Ask the man with the glasses, Fitzgerald, about the dig once. Now talk to
man at the bar who is
sitting at the bar wearing the light jumper. Ask him about Peagram once,
then twice about the
dig. Ask about Fitzgerald, he won’t answer. Give him a beer to let him talk.
Now ask again about
Fitzgerald. Go talk to Fitzgerald now, ask again about the dig. He’ll deny
working at it. Go
outside and talk to Maguire. Ask about the dig and Fitzgerald. Now you know
you have to be
careful with Fitzgerald. Go in again. Talk to Fitzgerald, first about the
dig, then about the
professor, then about the gem, then about the package twice. And last talk
about Marquet, the
old man. Fitzgerald will run outside and get runned over. Go outside, you’ll
know now what
happened. Now, use the sort of trigger left next to the pub door. Go into
the pub now. Ask the
barman for a beer (if you already have ordered a beer and haven’t finished
it yet, drink it
first). The beer pump and the washer are broken. Show the barman ‘your’
green card. He’ll ask
you to fix it. Talk to Ron, the old man in the corner. Don’t ask about
anything, just leave.
When he leaves a piece of wire on the table. Quickly grab it. When he
doesn’t sneeze, he sees it.
When he does sneeze, you’ll get it. Now you can fix the washer. Change the
old wire of the washer
with the new one. You’ll fix it and have entrance to the cellar. Go down the
cellar. Pull the
lever at the right. Now go outside the pub and open the big trapdoor. Kahn
will appear, but no
fear, nothing will happen. Go down the cellar again, now you have the flash
light and the gem.
Go up. When Doyle, the man with the light jumper lifts his arm to drink,
quick grab the towel.
Go outside. At the upper right you see a path, go there. Talk to the farmer.
First ask about the
car, then a couple of times about Fitzgerald. Till he leaves. Climb up the
haystack. Put the
sewer tool in a hole in the wall. Climb over the wall now. Your way is
blocked by a goat. So
walk to the ladder, then when the goat has checked you, quick run to the
axle. The goat is stuck
now. Go back to the cellar in the pub. Make wet your towel (if you have done
this before you
talked to the farmer, it’ll be dry before you needed it). Go back to the
goat now. Go down the
ladder. Pick up some of the plaster out the sack at the left. Try to pick up
the statue just
before the stone door. Now try it again, so some holes will appear. Throw
some plaster in the
holes, now sprinkle the water from the towel over it (if it’s dry, make it
wet again in the
cellar). After the plaster has dried, pick it up. Put it in the five holes
left next to the stone
door. The door will open. Go in this door. After a short movie you’ll be
back with Nicole.

Section 3: Paris:
ЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇ
Poste de Police (Police office)
-------------------------------
Leave her and go to the police office. Ask Moue, the sergeant, about Marquet
four times. You’ll
get the hospital added to your map. Go there.

Hфpital
-------
Talk to the receptionist, show her your ID Pass.
Then ask about Nurse Grendell three times. Now walk down the left corridor.
At the left you see
a plug, pull it out. The handyman will put it back in. Then when you can do
something again,
open the door. Now you are Doctor Stobbart. Go back to the lobby again. Talk
to the older doctor.
He’ll see you as the new doctor. Go back down the corridor again. First
you’ve got to inspect
the man in bed two. Leave him, without asking anything. Now talk to the
nurse. You’ve got to
inspect Sopmarsh to. Just leave him. Talk to Benoir, give him the pressure
gauge. Walk to the
left, Sopmarsh will call you back. Talk to Benoir, and ask him to use the
pressure gauge on
Sopmarsh. Go to the left now. Go through the door. You talk to Marquet for
awhile, then a doctor
comes in and kill him.

Rue Jarry
---------
You’ll be with Nicole again. Leave her and go to the museum.

Musйe Crune
-----------
Enter the museum. Open the
window with the lever left next the artefacts stalled out in the under the
glass. When the guard
comes, quick open the sarcophagus and go in. When the hours pass, Flap &
Guido will come in.
Throw down the big totem pole. A black dressed cat will steal the tripod.
You’ll be back with
Nicole. Just leave her without asking anything. Go to the museum again. Talk
to the man with the
long, blond hair, Lobineau. Ask about Mountfaucon twice. Mountfaucon will be
added to your map.
Go there.

Montfaucon
----------
Talk to the juggler about himself, till you try to juggle. Talk to the cop
about the
red clown’s nose. Talk to the juggler and try to juggle again. The juggler
and the cop will
leave and you have a red ball. Open the sewer lid with your sewer tool. Go
down. Walk to the
left sort of inscription. Use your sewer tool on it. It’s hollow. Use it
again to make a gap.
Now just use the inscription. It will move a little. Now use the kind of
circle in the boat to
let down the chain. Pick up the chain now and tie it to the inscription. Use
the circle again to
get up the chain and demolish the inscription. Go in the gap that has
appeared. Look through the
hole just above the middle of the screen where you can see a bit light. You
see a Templars'
meeting. Look again to see them leave. Go down the stairs. Put the tripod on
the stone and then
the gem on the tripod. You see the word MARIB.

Rue Jarry

You’ll be back with Nicole now. Just leave and go
to the airport, to Marib.

Section 4: Marib:
ЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇ
Go to the right and under the house. Show the matchbook to the carpet-seller
to gain access to the
club. Go up. In the club try to use the toilet door. Talk to Ultar abut the
sign. Go back down
the market. Click with your Right mouse button on the under part of the
kebab stall. Now you know
where the brush is. Go to the right and talk to the boy like Aladdin, Nejo.
Ask about the ball,
leave him. Talk to the kebab seller, leave without anything asking. Talk to
Nejo again. Ask about
the seller twice. Give him the ball (yes). Leave him and talk to Arto about
the phrase. Go back to
the market. Talk to Nejo and you get the brush. Go back to the club. Give
the brush to the barman.
You get the toilet keys. Open the door with them. Open the towel holder with
the keys. Get the
towel. Open the toilet door. Get the chain. Talk to Ultar. Show him the
picture of Kahn. Talk
about Bull’s head, until you have to answer, answer positive. You don’t have
fifty bucks, so go
back to the market. Go to Nejo. Look at the cat, and quick use the bell on
the table. A statue
fall off, get it. Use the tissue with the statue. Talk to Duane, the fat,
yellow dressed,
American man. Show him the statue, you’ll get fifty bucks for it. Go back to
the club. Talk to
Ultar about Bull’s Head, say yes again. You go back to the market. Talk to
Ultar about the Truck.
It’s broken. Give him the towel. Now you leave to Bull’s Head. Grab a twig
from the tree at the
right. Use the towel on the twig. Use the thing you’ve just made on the hole
in the floor. Go
down now. You see a hole in the upper left corner of the screen. Look at it.
Use the ring inside
of it. A door will open. Go in. Walk to the right. You see a dead man,
Klausner. Search his body,
you find a lens. Take a look at the map left, then at the three-headed
statue and then again at
the map, now should Kahn appear (if not keep switch looking at the just
named things). You’ll go
outside. Just tell him where Klausner is. Say he hasn’t got anything. The
next question you have
to answer by the angle. Then say you want to die like a man. Shake him your
hand with the buzzer.
Jump off the cliff (if you have gone for the gun, you’ll be dead now). You
are with Nicole again.

Go left. Use the pressure gauge on the hose. When the gardener has gone in,
go in to. Walk to the
gate to make the dogs barking. Quick stand behind the armour. When the man
left, go up. Talk to
the countess about the Templars. Then when the item has left about the chess
pieces. You’ll go to
the mausoleum. Remove the bible. Talk to the countess about the board then
about the pieces. She
let Lopez the gardener get them. Talk with the countess, starting from the
back of the item list.
Till you are with the Templars, Lopez should come. When you’ve put every
piece on his place. Try
every white piece in the middle row. The king at the second place from down.
The other two white
pieces couldn’t I see so fast, but they both have to be placed above the
king. A niche will open.
You are back with Nicole and have a chalice.

Section 7: Paris:

Leave Nicole. Go to Mountfaucon.

Go up the stairs. Talk with the priest about the chalice. He’ll
polish it for you. Click with your right mouse button on the statue. Now put
the lens in the
scroll. You see a hidden picture. Get your chalice back, it’s blinking now.
Take a look at the
comb in the far corner. Leave Mountfaucon.

Rue Jarry

Go to Nicole. Leave her.

Musйe Crune

Go to Andrй. Ask him twice about the three-headed statue. You’ll get
Baphomet added to your map.
Go there.

Go down through
the gate. Try to open the right door. Ask the guard for the keys of the
toilet. Open the door
with them. Look at the soap and pick it up. Then use the keys on the soap.
Then use the plaster
on the soap. Then use the soap with the tap. Now you’ve got a good copy of
the key. Look at the
sort of boiler at the left. Go back. Take a look at the thermostat. Talk to
the guard about it.
Use the thermostat. The guard will put on his gloves. Give the keys back t
the guard. Go up now.
Try to put your fake-key in the paint pot. Go down again. Use the ‘phone. Go
up and call the
painter because there’s telephone for him. When he leaves put your key in
the paint pot. Go back
down, when the painter leaves ask the guard for the toilet keys. Open the
toilet with the keys.
Use your key with the real keys to fool the guard. Go back and give the keys
back to the guard.
Use the ‘phone again. The guard will call the painter. When you go down,
open the left door with
your key. Use your chalice on the mosaic floor there. Now you see a sort of
church on the
chalice.

You’ll be back with Nicole. Leave her and go to the airport, to Villa de
Vasconcellos.

Section 8: Villa de Vasconcellos:

Go in the villa. Pick up the mirror in the small room where the hose is
attached to the tap. Go
upstairs. Talk to the countess about her and the chalice. Go to the
mausoleum, where you’ve found
the chalice the first time you was here. Get the long stick standing there.
Close the window.
Use the tissue on the stick. Now light the tissue with the candle. Then use
your burning stick
with the candle hanging in he top of the mausoleum. After a long burn you
get a key. Get also
the bible which is at the left. Go back to the countess, talk about the
bible. Go talk to Lopez
about the well and then about the gap twice. Go to the place where you put
the gauge on the hose.
There’s a tree, look at it, now you’ve got a divining rod. Talk to Lopez
about it. After many
hours you found a...can. Lopez will throw it away and you here the a bang.
The well is found.
You’ll be in it. Go to the lion’s head, use it. Quick move to under the rope
(otherwise you’ll
be smashed under the head). Use now your mirror with the wall of the well.
You see a sort of key
hole. You’ve got the key from the candle. Use it and go in the now opened
gate. You’ll be with
the countess again. Now you’re going to Nicole.

Bannockburn, by train.

First talk about Nicole about her twice. Then try to leave. A conductor
comes in. Leave again,
now real. Walk left till Guido crosses your way. Go back to your
compartment. Nicole and the
old lady are gone. Go in the compartment next yours. Talk to the man with
the stripes shirt about
Nicole. Open the window and go up. Go right (otherwise you’ll get
electrocuted). When you see a
ladder, go down. As quick as you can do something. Pull the emergency brake
at the left. You can
talk to Kahn about Bull’s Head but it doesn’t matter. Go out via the right.
First you’ve got to
untie Nicole. Now leave via the left.

Section 11: Bannockburn:
ЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇЇ
You’re walking to a ruin. Go in there. Search four times in the trash tile,
just below the middle
of the screen. Use the gear with the demon at the right. Use the handle of
the turning cog to
get it. On that place is also a bigger gear, get it. Use these both items on
the demon. First
the gear then the handle. The door will open. Go in. Go to the right through
the gate. You see
again a Templars’ meeting, now a real one. Rosso is also one of them. You’ll
be hold under fire
by Eklund. You can skip the short movies by pressing space. Eklund will be
killed by Rosso, then
Rosso by the grandmaster. You ran away. Guido blocks again your way. Get the
torch and throw it
on the powder. Nicole is smart also and throw her bag on it. BOOM. At last
the good guy always
get the girl. Watch and hear the end movie.

This chapter is dedicated to the game, duh.... and what I think of it. Maybe
you don't like
this, but I think it's a general review.

   Graphics 97/100
The graphics are the most important aspects of the game. It is the first
things you see. The
game starts of with some pictures played very quickly beyond eachother. We
call it a movie.
Here you can see it is a very good drawn game. Of course, now, five years
later, there can
be produced better graphics. But then it was great! There are 11 sections,
which are on 2
discs, because the game was so great (in two ways), that the graphics didn't
fit on 1 disc.
This was very unique then, it's one of the first game on 2 discs, now it
isn't even natural.
You can see this is a very original game, because of the realistic graphics
and people.
If you look good you can see depth in the game. The foreground as well as
the background
are good drawn. With the most of adventure games from the beginning
nineties, there are
unrealistic people and objects. Not here. Sometimes there are movies, which
are actually
graphics, but then fast played. There are also very good, a bit cartoony
sometimes also.
That's why it hasn't got the fully 100 points, but 97 is a very high rate.

   Sound 45/100
The sound is the baddest part in the game, but when you turn on your radio
with some cool
music you like. Exciting music is the best. It'll replace the sounds of the
game.
Music isn't there much, but it's kinda good. But have you ever heard them
talk? No.
Only some important sounds they let you hear. In Broken Sword 2: The Smoking
Mirror, this part
is improved a bit, but still I think in part 3 of the BS series, this is the
part that has
to be improved the most. Maybe 45 points is a bit to low, for such a very
good game, but
sounds were not the most important part of a game back 5 years. Now that has
changed a lot.
So, BS 3 will be better. If it comes...

   Gameplay 88/100
The gameplay of Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars is very, very good
and the most
important part of the game. It tells you how easy (or hard) it is to play a
game, and if
it is fun to play. Well, both things are there. When you start the game, you
don't even
have to read the manual it comes naturally, except from the ones who touches
the pc
for the first time. In the upper bar, you can see your items to try them on
other objects.
If you talk you can see in the bottom bar the items to talk about. If you
click with your
right mouse button, you can examine things (objects) better then with the
left one.
Also, the gameplay is very clear, when you can do something with an object
or person, the
cursor changes to a gear, mouth or hand. That's why the score here is 88.

   Originality 67/100
Of course, this game isn't very original, there were so much other adventure
games made before.
Like Indiana Jones, The Dig, Leisure Suit Larry 1,2,3,5,6,7 and lots of
other games.
But the style, story and graphics made this game so good. That's why the
originality not only
30 points has got, but still 67. Further more there is nothing to tell about
the originality
I think, so let's go to the last part...

   Lastability 81/100
The game has over 70 places to discover, and there isn't one way to
accomplish the game,
there are much more (5, or so :-). So to play them all, you are busy a
while. In every
place you can see 5 objects/persons average. Sometimes many more. It is also
just fun to
play the game again and again and again and ... That's what I did, so I
could make a faq/
walkthrough for this fantastic game. I don't know if I know al the ways to
accomplish the
game, but I think I know 90 % of it. 81 points is a very high rate for a
game released
in 1995. The most of the games then went like this. Buy (the game is now
very cool), Play
(the game is losing its tite to you), Accomplish (a bit cooler), and then
the worst...
Stay in some kind of drawer to stay there for 3 years and then its gonna to
be sold at
some kind of market for $2 or Dfl.5. Broken Sword isn't that kind of game. I
bought it five
years ago and still I like it to play.

   Overall Rate 82/100
This rate is very high especially for such a game as old as Broken Sword,
but I've talked
enough about the oldness (yes...) of the game. There are games that score
much higher,
Deus Ex, Rogue Spear, Unreal II and lots of others, but there are many more
that score
lower, like... (no it wouldn't be fair to them). So Broken Sword: The Shadow
of the Templars
is a very good game. Try to buy a copy somewhere, but I don't think they are
still making
this game, but maybe you can find it somewhere. There are rumours, I don't
know if they are
true, that Broken Sword 1 & 2 are on Twilights (this are illegal cd-rom's
that are made
in Poland and are distributed in Europe, with many games on it, because they
games are
zipped very small). So you can try to find it there to... but I do not
recommend this.

5. Rumours

There are some reports, or rumours, that there's going to be a 3rd game of
Broken Sword,
I hope so, but it is said to be began designed in the late 2000's, and can
be released
around christmas 2001 or the early 2002's. It is also said that it's only
going to be on
the PSX2, lucky for the players and fans with one, but I'm not planning to
buy one, so...
Very sadly this for the PC fans, it's time to buy some emulator or download
one, or something
like that, I'll keep you informed.

Well, as I said, there was going to be a Broken Sword III, and now there has
finally been made
a start with this game, it's called Broken Sword The Sleeping Dragon and
it's not only going
to be on the PS2, also on the PC (yes!, most of the gamers still are pc
ones) and XBOX.
The release date is going to be 2002 (well, 365 days...). There isn't any
more info on the
main site (www.revolution.co.uk), only a logo of the game. Keep in touch!
The official site is www.brokensword3.com, but don't expect to see more than
the logo :D

Revolution Software
admitted they are working on a third part of Broken Sword (when it's on

with the title The Slepping Dragon (knew that either, now it comes). The
game has to be
released somewhere in 2002. Revolution says that the game has got to have
better looks
when it is about next-gen games. A tough saying. The game will be fully 3D
(in contrast
with BS1 and BS2) and will have the same game control as Cold Blood. That
means no point
and click game. The two main characters (George and Nicole!) will perform

Part 1 - Paris

You start the game, shortly after the bistro blows up. Enter the bistro.
Look at the bottle on the bar, and then talk to the woman. Answer her
questions as you like, as this does not affect the game, apart from a
few different lines of speech that the characters say. Leave the bistro.
Get the paper that is curled up neatly by the lamppost. Aha, a clue:
'Salah-eh Dinn. Thirteen forty-five'. Walk up the street to where the
man is working. A police officer and an inspector will show up and drag
you back to the bistro for questioning. Answer the questions that the
inspector asks you as you like, and you will automatically leave the
bistro. A woman should be walking around, taking photographs. Talk to
her. Ask her about the clown. Ask her about Plantard. Ask her about the
clown. She will give you her phone number, and then she will leave.
Follow her up the street, and you will be at the construction site
again. Talk to the old man. Show him the newspaper, and he will leave.
Use the toolbox, and you will get a metal rod. Walk west, so you are
outside of the bistro, and then walk into the archway on the right side
of this screen. Use the metal rod on the iron cover. Go down the hole
into the sewer. Aha, a clue! Rush over and grab the red plastic ball
from the floor, which is actually the clown's red nose. Walk north,
further into the sewers. Wow, more clues! Grab the tissue from the
floor, and then get the piece of cloth from the rusting spike. Go up the
ladder. A man, obviously more than a tad confused, will be watching you,
demanding to know what is going on. Answer his first question however
you like. Show him inspector Rosso's card. Show him the piece of cloth.
Ask him about the jacket. Ask him about the jacket. Ask him about the
jacket. Ask him about the jacket. Stop talking to the man, and he will
kindly boot you out of his house. Exit on the right side of the screen,
and you will now be shown a map where you can choose where to go.

Poste de police
---------------
Walk over to one of the phones that is on the wall, and use it. Phone
Nicole, and she will give you her address. Leave the police station.

Rue Jarry
---------
Walk over to the old woman who is knitting and talk to her. Ask her
about Nicole, and she will give you information on how to open the door.
Walk over to the door. Use the door, and you will find yourself in
Nicole's apartment. You will automatically speak to Nicole whenever you
enter the apartment. Show her the red nose, and you will get a new
location on the map: La risйe du monde. Show her the piece of cloth. Ask
about the phone, and phone B. Todryk. Ask him about the photograph.
Leave Rue Jarry

Talk to the old man. Show him the tissue, and he will tell you that it
is theatrical greasepaint. Show him the picture. Hmm, so the killer goes
by the name of Khan. Leave the costume shop.

location on the map: Hotel Ubu. Exit the police station.

Hotel Ubu

Walk over to the clerk. Try and get the key, and the clerk will stop
you. Walk over to the woman that is playing the piano, and talk to her.
Show her the photograph, and she will tell you that she will tell you
that the person in the photograph is called Moerlin, not Khan. Ask her
about Moerlin. Ask her about the key. She will distract the clerk. While
the clerk is gone, get the key. Go up the stairs. Use the key with the
first door on the right. Open the window, and go through it. Walk along
the ledge, and go through the other window. Hmm, so this is the killer's
room! Walk over to the door, and open it. Agh, it's Khan! Luckily, Khan
doesn't notice anything unusual, and so he changes, and then leaves. Get
the pants that are on the bed, and you will find two clues. One clue is
an ordinary matchbook. The other clue is a pass card. Open the door, and
go down the stairs. Talk to the woman that is playing at the piano. Ask
her about Moerlin. Talk to the clerk. Ask him about the safe, and then
show him the pass card. Walk over to the woman at the piano, and talk to
her. Show her the pass, and she will make the clerk give you a sheet of
parchment out of the safe. Wow, the parchment does look important... but
those two suspicious-looking goons outside the hotel are sure to get it
unless it is hidden. Walk up the stairs, and use the key with the door
on the right. Go through the window. Use the parchment with the alleyway
below. Go through the window. Open the door, and go down the stairs.
Exit the hotel, and the two goons will search you. Lucky we didn't have
the parchment, hmm? When they have finished, walk down the alley. You
will automatically get the parchment, and will return to Nico's
apartment.

Rue Jarry
---------
Ask Nico about the parchment, and you will get a new location on the
map: Musйe Crune. Leave Rue Jarry.

Musйe Crune
-----------
Enter the museum. Hmm, that tripod looks like the one from the
parchment. Look at the tripod, and you will find out that it is from
Lochmarne, in Ireland. Leave the museum, and head back to the map
screen. It's time to leave Paris, so go to the aйroport.

Part 2 - Lochmarne
----------------------------

You arrive in Lochmarne by bus, and are standing outside a bar. Enter
the bar, and then talk to the guy in the corner, O'Brien. Ask about the
castle. Ask about the tripod. Ask about Peagram. Ask about Peagram. Ask
about gem. When O'Brien asks you if you are a reporter, answer how you
like. Talk to the man in the middle of the room, Fitzgerald. Ask about
the castle. Ask about Peagram. Ask about the dig. Ask about the gem.
Talk to the man next to O'Brien, Pat. Ask about the dig. Ask about the
gem. Ask about the dig. Ask about Fitzgerald. Ask about beer. Ask about
Fitzgerald. Exit the bar, and talk to the kid, Maguire. Answer his first
question how you like.Ask about Peagram. Ask about Peagram. Ask about
Peagram. Ask about the dig. Ask about the dig. Ask about the dig. Enter
the bar, and talk to Fitzgerald. Ask about the dig. Ask about Peagram.
Ask about the package. Ask about the package. Ask about Jacques Marquet.
Fitzgerald will get up and leave, and will be run over by a red car.
Leave the bar, and Maguire will tell you what happened. Aha, the cover
has fallen off of that plastic box on the wall of the bar, revealing a
switch! Use the switch, and then walk right and go up the path. Talk to
the farmer. Ask about the ferrari. Ask about the ferrari. Ask about
Fitzgerald. Ask about Fitzgerald. Ask about Fitzgerald. Ask about
Fitzgerald. Climb the haystack. Use the metal rod from your inventory,
in the little crack in the wall. Climb over the wall. You will be inside
the castle, with a stupid goat blocking your way down the ladder. Try
and climb down the ladder, and the goat will butt you out of the way.
Very quickly, click on the rusted piece of iron on the left side of the
screen, and the goat will be tied up. Ha, that got him! Go down the
ladder. Get the sack that is on the bench to get some plaster of paris.
Try and get the statue, and it will fall over. Get the statue, and it
will leave five indentations in the floor. Use the plaster of paris in
the indentations, and then go up the ladder. Exit the castle, and go all
the way back to where Maguire is. Enter the pub. Talk to the barman, and
answer his first question how you like. Ask about beer. Show him the
pass card, and the barman will allow you to go down into the cellar only
if you can fix his glass washer. Pat has his arm on a towel. When he
lifts his arm to take a drink, quickly get the towel. Walk over to the
guy who is sneezing. After a while, he will bring out a piece of wire.
When he sneezes, quickly get the piece of wire. The barman is still
wants you to fix the glass washer, so use the piece of wire that you got
from the man on the piece of wire leading to the glass washer. Go down
into the cellar, and use the metal rod that is on the wall. Exit the
cellar, and exit the bar. Open the trapdoor, and a man will show up...
AGH, it's Khan!!! Khan will leave after a while, so enter the bar, and
return to the cellar. You will automatically get the blue gem. Use the
faucet, and then use the towel with the water. The towel is wet, but not
for long! Quickly leave the cellar, and then leave the bar. Walk right,
and go up the path. Climb the haystack, and climb over the wall into the
castle. Go down the ladder. Use the wet towel with the plaster. Get the
plaster cast. Use the plaster cast with the five sockets on the wall. A
door will open. Go through the newly opened door, and you will be
returned to Nico's apartment in Paris. Leave Nico's apartment. Leave Rue
Jarry.

Part 3 - Paris
------------------------

Poste de police
---------------
Talk to Sergeant Moue, and ask about Jacques Marquet. Ask about Jacques
Marquet. Hmm, so it seems as if Marquet has gone to hospital. Leave the
police station.

Hфpital

Enter the hospital, and talk to the woman behind the desk. Show her the
pass card. Ask about the nurse. Ask about the nurse. Ask about the
nurse. Stop talking to the woman, and walk down the left corridor. Ah,
so that's what was making that noise! Walk over to the plug near the
water cooler, and get the plug. While the man has gone off to
investigate, quickly open the red door, and you will get a doctor's
uniform. Enter the top-left corridor, and you will enter a ward. Stop
talking to the man in the bed, and try and walk to the right. The old
man in the bed will stop you. Exit the ward, and take the top-right
corridor to return the the main hall. Talk to the man with the
moustache, and he will tell you to show Benoir around the hospital. Walk
down the corridor, and you will automatically enter the ward. Stop
talking to the old man, and talk to Benoir. Show him the pressure gauge.
Ask about the pressure gauge. Tell Benoir about the old man, Eric
Sopmarsh. Walk right, and enter the door. Aha, so that's Marquet! He
will start to talk to you, and then another doctor will walk in and boot
you out. After a short scene, you will return to Nico's apartment.

Rue Jarry
---------
Leave Nico's apartment. Leave Rue Jarry.

Musйe Crune
-----------
Enter the museum, and the attendant will start talking to you. Stop
talking to the attendant, and walk over to the man looking in the cases,
Andrй Lobineau. Talk to Andrй, and ask about Montfauзon. Ask about
Montfauзon again, and then stop talking to Andrй. When the attendant is
looking away, quickly use the metal rod next to the window. When the
attendant goes over to close the window, use the sarcophagus. Flap and
Guido will enter the museum and are contemplating stealing the tripod.
Use the totem pole, and then you will automatically return to Nico's
apartment. Exit the apartment. Exit Rue Jarry.

Montfauзon
----------
Talk to the clown. Ask about juggling. Ask about juggling. Stop talking
to the clown, and walk over to the police officer. Talk to the police
officer, and show him the red nose. Stop talking to the police officer,
and walk overto the clown. Talk to the clown, and ask him about
juggling. The clown will get annoyed and leave, but he forgets his red
ball. The police officer, no longer being entertained by the juggler,
leaves as well. Use the metal rod on the manhole, and go down the hole.
Use the metal rod with the door on the right. Use the cogs. Use the
cogs. Walk on to the boat, and use the handle. Get the hook, and walk
over to the cogs (still carrying the hook). Use the cogs, and then use
the lever on the boat to open the door. Go through the tunnel into the
cave. Look in the crack in the wall. Wow, a secret meeting! When the
meeting ends, look in the crack in the wall again to see the people
leaving. Go down the steps and enter the cave. Use the tripod on the
stone. Use the gem on the tripod. Aha, a clue: M-A-R-I-B. You will
automatically return to Nico's apartment.

Rue Jarry
---------
Nico will tell you that Marib is a village in Syria. Leave the
apartment. Leave Rue Jarry. Go to the aйroport. Go to Marib.

Part 4 - Marib
------------------------

Walk right, and go up the stairs. Talk to the crafty looking carpet
seller, and show him the matchbook. Go up the stairs, into the Club
Alamut. Try to open the door, and then read the sign on the door. Talk
to Ultar, and ask him about the sign. Hmm, so a toilet brush has gone
missing. Show him the photograph. Ask him about Bull's Head Hill, and
answer yes to his question. Leave the Club Alamut. Walk past the carpet
seller, and go through the arch. Right-click on the carpet seller to
find out that he is using the toilet brush, that he stole from the Club
Alamut. Talk to the kebab seller, and then stop talking to him. Walk
left, and talk to the boy, Nejo. Ask about the kebab seller. Ask about
the kebab seller. Show him the red ball, and answer yes to his question.
Stop talking to Nejo. Walk right, and talk to the kebab seller. Click on
the phrase that Nejo told you to say, and you will automatically run up
the stairs. Go down the stairs, and talk to Nejo. He will give you the
toilet brush. Walk right, and go up the steps. Walk behind the carpet to
enter the Club Alamut. Show the toilet brush to the manager, and he will
give you the toilet keys. Use the keys on the toilet door. Use the keys
on the roller towel dispenser, and then use the roller towel dispenser
to get a towel. Open the toilet door, and use the toilet chain. Exit the
toilet. Exit the Club Alamut. Walk left, and go through the arch. Walk
over to Nejo, who is chucking the red ball against the door. Look at the
cat, and he will jump up onto the shelf. Quickly use the bell, and the
cat will jump down, dragging the statuette with him. et the statuette.
Use the tissue on the statuette. Talk to the man who is walking around,
Duane. Show the statuette to Duane, and you will get 50 bucks. Walk
right, and go up the stairs. Walk behind the carpet to enter the Club
Alamut. Talk to Ultar, and show him the 50 bucks. Answer yes to his
question. Ask about the taxi. Give towel to Ultar. After a short scene,
you will arrive at Bull's Head Hill. Get the tree. Use the stick with
the towel. Use the stick-towel with the crack in the rock. Use the
towel. Look at the niche in the rock. Use the niche in the rock.. Enter
the cave. Walk left, and you will find Klausner. Look at Klausner to
find a lens. Right-click on the stone head. Right-click on the
inscription. Aha, it's Khan! He will make you go outside, and then will
ask you a series of questions, in which you can choose to answer good or
bad. Choose to be good for his 1st quesion, good for his 2nd question
and good for his 3rd question. He will then ask you if you want to die
like a man, or die like a dog. Choose to die like a man, and when he
reaches out to shake your hand, quickly use the hand buzzer on him. Jump
off of the cliff.

gardener will walk past you. Go up the stairs, and the Countess will
start talking to you. Ask about the Templars. Ask about the Templars.
Ask about the chess set. Look at the lectern. Aha, a checker board! Talk
to the Countess, and ask her about the checker board. Ask about the
chess set. While Lopez has gone, ask the Countess about the Templars.
Ask about the Templars. You will be shown a puzzle, in which you have to
move chess pieces to the correct places on the chess board. Move the
king down one square, move the knight down two squares and move the
bishop to the top. You should arrive back in Nico's apartment.

Part 7 - Paris

Leave Nico's apartment. Leave Rue Jarry.

Montfauзon

Enter the church, and talk to the priest. Show him the chalice, and he
will offer to polish it for you. Answer yes to his question. Right-click
on the statue of the knight holding the staff and the scroll. Use the
lens on the scroll. Talk to the priest, and then stop talking to him.
Look at the tomb in the far corner. Leave the church, and leave
Montfauзon.

Musйe Crune
-----------
Enter the museum, and talk to Andrй. Ask him about the statue, and then
stop talking to him. Leave the museum, and exit the area outside of the
museum.

Site de Baphomet
----------------
Go down the stairs, and attempt to open the door on the right. Talk to
the guard, and ask him about the washroom. He will give you the washroom
key. Stop talking to the guard, and use the key on the washroom door.
Right-click the washbasin. Get the soap. Use the keys with the soap. Use
the soap with the plaster of paris. Use the soap with the tap. Go
through the door. Give the washroom keys to the guard, and then go up
the stairs. Use the key with the paint pot. Go down the stairs, and use
the phone. Go up the stairs, and talk to the painter about the phone.
Use the key with the paint pot. Go down the stairs. Talk to the guard,
and ask about the washroom. Use key on washroom door. Use washroom key
with plaster key. Exit washroom. Right-click the thermostat, and then
talk to the guard. Ask him about the thermostat, and then stop talking
to the guard. Use the thermostat, and the guard will put his gloves on.
Give the washroom keys (along with the fake plaster key) to the guard.
Use the phone, and Nico will distract the guard. Use the key with the
door on the left. Use the chalice with the mosaic on the floor. You will
be returned to Nico's apartment.

Rue Jarry
---------
Leave Nico's apartment. Leave Rue Jarry. Go to the aйroport. Go to Ville
De Vasconcellos.

Part 8 - Ville De Vasconcellos
----------------------------------------

Enter the house, and get the mirror out of the utility room. Go up the
stairs. The Countess will talk to you. Ask about the Countess. Stop
talking to her, and exit the room. Exit the house. Walk up the path to
the mausoleum. Open the door. Get the Bible. Get the rod that is leaning
against the wall. Use the rod on the window. Use the tissue on the rod.
Use the rod with one of the small candles. Use the rod with the big
candle. Leave the mausoleum. Walk up the path. Enter the house, and go
up the stairds. Talk to the Countess, and show her the Bible. Stop
talking to her, and exit the room. Exit the house. Talk to Lopez, and
ask him about the well. Ask him where the well would be. Ask him where
the well would be. Stop talking to him, and follow the hose to the left,
where it goes into that small building. Next to the building is a hazel
tree. Get the hazel tree, and then talk to Lopez. Show him the stick.
After a long scene, you will eventually find the well and climb down it.
Look at the lion's head. Use the lion's head, and then quickly click
left on the path. There are rays of sun shining down the well. Use the
mirror with the rays, to find out that there is a kind of keyhole on the
rock face. Use the carved piece of stone with the rock face. Go through
the newly opened door. After finding the chess piece, you will be
returned to Nico's apartment.

Part 9 - Paris
------------------------

After an extremely long scene, you will be shown the world map. Go to
Bannockburn.

Part 10 - Train
-------------------------

Attempt to leave the room, and Nico will stop you. Leave the room. Walk
left along the train until Guido comes out of a room. Walk right, and
enter the room where Nico (used) to be. Exit the room, and enter the
next room on the left. Talk to the man on the left, and ask him about
Nico. Stop talking to the man, and open the window. Climb out of the
train. Walk along the train to the right, and climb down the ladder. You
should arrive in a room with Nico. When you start playing the game,
quickly use the emergency break. Attempt to exit the train, and Nico
will stop you. Exit the train on the left.

Part 11 - Bannockburn
-------------------------------

Enter the tower. Look at the heap of stones. Look at the heap of stones.
Look at the heap of stones. Look at the heap of stones. Get the handle
from the cog arrangement. Get the cog and spindle. Use the first cog on
the stone statue. Use the second cog on the stone statue. Use the pipe
with the stone statue. Use the lid of the pen with the stone statue. Use
the red nose with the stone statue. Use the handle with the stone
statue. Enter the room. Walk up the path, and you will hear some voices.
After a long scene, you will start playing. Guido will be in the room.

Solution #3 for Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars


Act 1: Paris

1. Pick up the newspaper.
2. Walk to the roadworks.
3. After Rosso's interview in the cafe, talk to Nico, the photographer.
4. Ask Nico about the clown and Plantard (the clown's victim) until she has
told you all she knows and gives you her phone number.
5. Walk to the roadworks and give the newspaper to the workman.
6. Get the tool from the toolbox inside the tent.
7. Walk to the alley on the right hand side of the cafe square.
8. Use the tool on the manhole cover.
9. Get the clown's nose from the first sewer.
10. Get the tissue and the scrap of material from the second sewer.
11. Climb the ladder to the courtyard above.
12. Show Rosso's card to the concierge.
13. Show the material to the concierge.
14. Ask concierge about the jacket.
15. Say goodby to the concierge and return to the roadworks.
16. Telephone Nico and get her address.
17. Exit the roadworks to the right, to the Paris map.
18. Go to Rue Jarry.
19. Talk to the flower seller to identify Nico's address.
20. Try the door (it's stuck), then ask the flower seller about Nico again.

48. Go back to Nico's apartment and tell her you're going to Ireland.

Act 2, Ireland

1. Talk to Maguire about Peagram and the dig.
2. Go to MacDevitts.
3. Talk to Ron the poacher then say goodbye.
4. Wail until Ron leaves a snare on the table, then take the snare when he
sneezes - you have to be quick.
5. Ask Sean Fitzgerald about the dig.
6. Ask Doyle about Peagram, the dig, and Fitzgerald, and then if he wants a
beer.
7. Ask him again about Fitzgerald.
8. While Doyle is drinking, take the towel from under his elbow.
9. Ask Fitzgerald about the dig (again).
10. Go outside and ask Maguire about Fitzgerald (again).
11. Go back inside and ask Fitzgerald about the dig, Peagram, and the gem.
12. Ask about the package.
13. When Fitzgerald has left and Maguire has burst in, go back outside.
14. Turn off the beer pumps by throwing the exposed switch beside the pub
door.
15. Go back into the bark and ask Mick Leary for a drink - you will need to
finish off anything left in your glass if you ordered one earlier.
16. Show him the ID card.
17. Use the snare on the glass-washer's plug.
18. Go to the cellar and undo the bolt holding the trapdoor.
19. Go back to the street and upon the trapdoor.
20. Return to the cellar and collect the gem.
21. Turn on the tap and use it to wet the towel.
22. Leave the pub and take the path to the castle gate.
23. Tell the farmer about Fitzgerald's abduction.
24. Climb the haystack.
25. Insert manhole tool into wall, then click on gap at top to climb over.
26. Approach the goat to the right of the trough (by left-clicking on the
ladder).
27. As soon as the goat knocks you over, click on the plowshare on the far
left.
28. When the goat is trapped, go to the ladder and enter the excavation.
29. Get some plaster from the sack.
30. Move the stone idol so it falls on the sand, then raise it to expose the
holes.
31. Use the plaster on the holes in the sand.
32. Use the wet towel on the plaster in the sand (if the towel has dried,
return to the cellar and wet it again).
33. Pick up the plaster replica and use it on the holes in the wall.
34. Enter the secret room.

Act 3, Paris

1. Show Nico the gem.
2. Leave and go to Police Station.
3. Ask Moue about Marquet.
4. Leave and go to Hospital.
5. Ask receptionist about Marquet.
6. Show her your ID
7. Talk about Nurse Grendel until she gives you directions.
8. Go down corridor.
9. Speak to Sam the cleaner then unplug the cleaning machine.
10. When Sam leaves, go to the closet and get the Doctor's coat.
11. Return to reception and talk to the guy in the doorway.
12. Go back up the corridor to the ward.
13. Attempt to walk thorough the ward.
14. After the patient has stopped you, speak to Benoir.
15. Give him the pressure cuff, talk to him about it, and tell him to use it
on Eric Sopmash (the right hand icon).
16. Walk into Marquet's room and talk to him about everything.
17. Go to the museum and speak to Lobineau about the manuscript and the night
until he tells you about Spain.
18. When the guard is not looking, open the window, then when he goes to close
it hide in the sarcophagus.
19. When the raid starts, push on the totem pole.

Act 4, Mountfacuon Catacombs

1. Talk to the juggler and attempt to juggle.
2. Talk to the gendarme, show him the red nose.
3. Talk to the juggler and attempt juggling again.
4. When the juggler and gendarme leave, use the sewer key to lift the manhole
cover and descend beneath the streets.
5. Examine the rightmost arch.
6. Use the sewer key to break a hole in the plaster.
7. Pull level.
8. Examine mechanism.
9. Board boat and move the boom over the right-hand path.
10. Lower chain.
11. Take the chain hook and attach it to the exposed cog.
12. Board the boat and turn the winch.
13. Enter next room.
14. Look through hole in the wall to see Templars' meeting.
15. Look through hole again to see them leave.
16. Go down the steps.
17. Put the tripod on the stand in the middle of the circle.
18. Put the gem on the tripod.

Act 5: Spain

1. Use the pressure cuff on the hosepipe near the window where it enters the
house.
2. Go into the house.
3. Go down the passage to the rear of the house.
4. When the dogs scare George back into the hallway, left-click on the
armoire.
5. Go upstairs.
6. Talk to the Countess about everything.
7. Pick up the Bible on the lectern.
8. Examine the checkered pattern on the lectern. Talk to the countess about
it.
9. Talk to the Countess while Lopes fetches the pieces.

Act 6, Syria

1. Go up the steps at the far right.
2. Show the matchbook to the carpet seller.
3. Left-click on the steps to go up to the club.
4. Try to go into the Club Alamut's toilet.
5. Read the sign.
6. Ask Ultar about the sign.
7. Return to the main street again.
8. Look at and talk to Arto - the kebab stall holder near the steps to the
carpet seller.
9. Talk to Nejo about Arto.
10. Offer Nejo the red ball and select YES when he asks if you mean it.
11. Use the phrase on Arto.
12. Go back and talk to Nejo.
13. Go back to the club and give the toilet brush to the club manager.
14. Go into toilet, unblock the roller towel and take the towel.
15. Go back to Nejo's stall - Nejo should now be playing with the ball.
16. Stroke the cat and then ring the desk bell on the stall's counter.
17. Pick up the broken statuette
18. Use the tissue on the statuette.
19. Talk to Duane and sell him the statuette in exchange for $50 bill.
20. Go back to club and show Ultar the photograph.
21. Talk to Ultar until he offers to take George to the Bull's Head hill, then
give him the $50 bill.
22. Meet Ultar at the truck and give him the roller towel.
23. Use the stick/towel on the crack at the cliff edge and climb down.
24. Examine the niche in the rock until the ring is found and pull it.
25. Search Klausner's body, look at Baphomet and read the inscription.
26. Don't lie to Khan.
27. Say you want to die like a man.
28. When he offers to shake your hand, agree, but select the buzzer in the
grace period.
29. While he's down, jump off the cliff.

Act 7: Montfaucon church.

1. Show tarnished chalice to priest. Let him clean it.
2. Examine right hand tomb against the rear wall.
3. Examine scroll in the statue's hand.
4. Use the lens with the scroll.
5. Talk to priest again to recover chalice.
6. Go to museum again and talk to Lobineau about Baphomet.
7. Go to the Baphomet site from the Paris Map.

Act 8: The Excavation at the Institut Nerval

1. Go down steps to lobby.
2. Click on the right hand door (toilet).
3. Ask Guard for the keys.
4. Use keys on toilet door.
5. Pick up soap from the sink.
6. Use the keys on the soap to make an imprint of the excavation room key.
7. Use the plaster on the soap.
8. Use soap on water tap to wet the plaster and copy the excavation key.
9. Go back to lobby and give keys back to guard.
10. Go outside and try to use plaster key on painter's pot.
11. Go back down to the lobby and phone Nico.
12. Go back and talk to painter about phone.
13. Dip plaster key in paint pot to make it look real.
14. Go back down to the lobby and examine the thermostat on the left wall.
15. Ask guard about the thermostat.
16. Click on the thermostat, turning it to cold. The guard then puts on his
gloves.
17. Get the keys from the guard.
18. Use the painted key on the keys to swap it for the "real" excavation room
key.
19. Give keys back to Guard (he can't feel the fake key with his gloves on)
20. Try the key on the left door.
21. Phone Nico again and wait around
22. Go back to the lobby and use Excavation key on the left door to enter the
excavation room.
23. Use the polished chalice on the patch on the lower floor to see
anatomorphic projection.
24. This automatically sends you back to Nico's apartment.
25. Now you have access to Spain again on the Europe map; go there.

Act 9: Spain

1. Take the mirror from the utility room.
2. Talk to the countess.
3. Go to the mausoleum and examine the candle.
4. Use the window hook to close the window.
5. Use the tissue on the hook and then ignite it with the candles by the
lectern (the left candle, click on it's bottom half).
6. Light the big candle with the burning tissue to receive the stone key.
7. Take the Bible.
8. Give the Bible to the Countess and get her to look up the references.
9. Talk to Lopez about wells and how to find them.
10. Take hazel twig from the tree by the utility room window and show it to
Lopez.
11. Examine the Lions head and pull the tooth.
12. IMMEDIATELY MOVE AWAY. (click on left side of screen).
13. Examine the exposed wall.
14. Use the mirror on the shaft of sunlight coming down from the well to
illuminate the keyhole in the wall.
15. Locate the keyhole by touching the secret door again, and then use the
stone key on the door.
16. After returning to Nico's, George can go to the Airport, and off to
Bannockburn.

Act 10: Train

1. Try to leave the compartment to trigger the guard's visit.
2. Leave the compartment and head left down the corridor.
3. After confronting Guido, go as far left as you can.
4. After George realizes Eklund is on the train, go back to your compartment.
5. Go to the second compartment and talk to Geordie on the left.
6. Open the window and climb up.
7. Head to the RIGHT along the roof.
8. Enter the baggage car.
9. When Guido is thrown off the train, pull the brake cord (on left wall).
10. Attempt to leave the carriage.
11. After talking to Nico, leave the carriage.

Act 11: Scotland

1. In the church tower, turn the handle on the wheel mechanism to break it
off.
2. Take the cog and spindle.
3. Examine the rubble until you find a second cog.
4. Use both of the cogs, then the handle on the demon.
5. Enter the crypt and walk through to the far exit.
6. To foil the grand master's plans, grab the torch QUICKLY and throw it on
the gunpowder.

Solution #4 for Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars


Important Notes
Broken Sword is very well designed, and rich in plot, graphic adventure game
that will give you more than 20 pleasant hours of playing. However before
reading the solution make sure you read this paragraph. The game play is very
easy and enjoyable: a magnifying glass will appear every time you can talk to
somebody or examine something. Finally the image of two gears will appear
every time you can operate something.

When you are talking to someone the screen will be divided in three zones. In
the upper zone your inventory will be open all the time in order to offer,
show or combine items. The middle zone is your usual interactive window and
finally the bottom zone is where the topics available for discussion appear.
Click every topic as many times are needed for it to disappear completely or
you may lose important piece of information. When I mention a topic for
discussion that are not active yet in your screen do not panic. It will
certainly appear after some time while you are talking about something
relevant. Sometimes an answer from you is needed: fist up means yes and fist
down no. Do not forget to save often for the fear of getting yourself killed
due to a wrong answer or approach to a puzzle as well.
                                        
Playing the game for a second and third time I decided to approach some
topics, riddles and discussions differently. I was surprised to find out that
there were many alternatives provided by Revolution making the game fun to
play again and again. So if you are stuck at some point and what I suggest
cannot apply to your situation (due to a different approach you made before)
do not become discouraged. Hints are available all the time. Nicole always
makes a suggestion as what to do next provided you ask her (try calling her).
